Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid has been in a relationship with actor Bradley Cooper since 2023. She has one daughter, Khai, whom she welcomed with singer Zayn Malik in September 2020. Hadid and Malik ended their relationship in 2021 and co-parent their daughter.

Hadid has discussed her diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune thyroid disorder. She has also spoken about social anxiety and attending psychotherapy to help manage it.

Hadid was born in Los Angeles to Palestinian-American real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch former model Yolanda Hadid. She was raised in Santa Barbara and has younger siblings Bella Hadid and Anwar Hadid, both of whom also became models. Her older paternal half-sisters are Marielle and Alana Hadid, and she has a younger paternal half-sister named Aydan Nix.

Hadid was captain of the varsity volleyball team at Malibu High School and competed in horseback riding. After graduating in 2013, she moved to New York City to study criminal psychology at The New School, later suspending her studies as her modeling career developed. The nickname “Gigi” was used to distinguish her from a classmate named Helena.

Hadid began modeling for Baby Guess at age two after being discovered by Guess co-founder Paul Marciano. She later paused modeling to focus on school before returning to the brand, becoming the face of a Guess campaign in 2012. She signed with IMG Models in 2013 and made her New York Fashion Week debut walking for Desigual in February 2014.

Her high-fashion breakthrough came with a cover of Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book in 2014, followed by campaigns for Tom Ford and appearances in the 2015 Pirelli Calendar. She became a Maybelline brand ambassador in 2015 and made her first appearance in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that December. In 2016, she returned to the show and earned her wings.

In 2016, Hadid became Tommy Hilfiger's global brand ambassador and co-designed the Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger capsule collection. The collaboration continued through four seasons and earned her the Best Design Debut honor at the Daily Front Row's Fashion Los Angeles Awards. She also designed a boot collection with Stuart Weitzman and collaborated with Reebok on sneakers and the #PerfectNever campaign.

Hadid was named Daily Front Row's Model of the Year in 2015 and won the British Fashion Council's International Model of the Year award in 2016. She has appeared on at least 50 international Vogue covers and has been ranked by Models.com among the “New Supers.”

Hadid appeared with her mother on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between 2012 and 2016. Her other television appearances include MasterChef, Lip Sync Battle, RuPaul's Drag Race, Beat Bobby Flay, and Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? She co-hosted the 2016 American Music Awards with Jay Pharoah and appeared as herself in Ocean's 8.

She appeared in music videos including Taylor Swift's “Bad Blood,” Calvin Harris's “How Deep Is Your Love,” and Zayn Malik's “Pillowtalk.” She directed DNCE's “Cake by the Ocean” video and photographed Malik for a Versus Versace campaign. In 2022, she launched Guest in Residence, a clothing brand for which she serves as founder and creative director. In 2023, she co-hosted Netflix's second season of Next in Fashion with Tan France.

Hadid has supported Palestine and the Free Palestine movement alongside her sister Bella Hadid. In 2024, the sisters donated $1 million to Palestinian relief agencies. She also protested the 2017 executive order commonly known as the Muslim Ban with Bella in New York City.

Her charitable work has included a UNICEF visit to Bangladesh, participation in a virtual charity tennis match benefiting Feeding America, and donations connected to the Black Lives Matter movement. She has also supported Children in Need and donated clothing to a British Vogue charity auction benefiting NHS Charities Together and the NAACP.
