Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns married Galina Becker in early December 2014. He has a daughter named Joelle and two sets of twin boys.

He is part of the Anoaʻi wrestling dynasty. His father, Sika Anoaʻi, was one half of The Wild Samoans, while his brother Rosey was also a professional wrestler. His extended family includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Rikishi, Yokozuna, Umaga, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu.

Before entering professional wrestling, Reigns played football at Pensacola Catholic High School, Escambia High School, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He played defensive tackle for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and was named first-team All-ACC in his senior year. He studied management at Georgia Tech.

Reigns went undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft, then joined the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars without appearing in a regular-season game. He later joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League and was released in 2008.

Reigns began his professional wrestling career in 2010 with Florida Championship Wrestling, using the ring name Roman Leakee. He made his WWE developmental television debut as Roman Reigns on NXT in 2012 before moving to WWE's main roster as a member of The Shield alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

The Shield won the WWE Tag Team Championship through Reigns and Rollins, defeated major opponents including Team Hell No and The Wyatt Family, and became one of WWE's defining groups of the period. After Seth Rollins betrayed the group in 2014, Reigns became a singles competitor and won the 2015 Royal Rumble Match. He won his first WWE Championship at Survivor Series 2015, later captured the United States Championship from Rusev, and defeated Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania 32 to begin his third WWE Championship reign.

At WrestleMania 33, Reigns defeated The Undertaker in the event's main event. In 2018, he defeated Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam to win the Universal Championship for the first time.

In October 2018, Reigns announced that leukemia had returned after an earlier diagnosis 11 years before. He relinquished the Universal Championship and took a hiatus from wrestling while pursuing treatment.

Reigns announced in February 2019 that his leukemia was in remission and returned to WWE programming. He withdrew from his scheduled WrestleMania 36 match against Goldberg in 2020 because he was immunocompromised during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reigns returned at SummerSlam 2020 with a more villainous persona, aligned himself with Paul Heyman, and adopted the titles “The Tribal Chief” and “The Head of the Table.” He won the Universal Championship for a second time at Payback 2020 after defeating Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match.

His storyline with his cousins Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso developed into The Bloodline, later joined by Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn. Reigns defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 37, defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to win the WWE Championship, and became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Reigns lost the titles to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, ending his championship reign after 1,316 days. The run was described as the fourth-longest world title reign in WWE history and the longest since 1988.

Reigns began an acting career alongside his wrestling work. He appeared with his cousin Dwayne Johnson in the 2019 film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

He later appeared in the Netflix film The Wrong Missy and voiced characters in Elena of Avalor and the animated family film Rumble.
