Trevor Wallace

Trevor Auburn Wallace was born in Naperville, Illinois, and grew up in Camarillo, California. He is Jewish and graduated from San Jose State University, where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Wallace became interested in comedy at 17 after his mother encouraged him to join a six-week comedy class at the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club. He later described the experience as the point when performing began to feel like his intended career. During university, he was also a founding member of the San Jose State University Stand Up Comedy Club.

Wallace began making short comedy videos on Vine while attending San Jose State University. His early viral videos about the clothing and skateboard retailer Zumiez were viewed more than 14 million times through reuploads and Vine compilations. After Vine shut down, he moved toward longer comedy sketches on YouTube.

His online comedy included a 2018 sketch about the impression that owning AirPods signaled wealth. In 2019, his sketches about an angry, energy-drink-obsessed character named Kyle helped popularize the name as a comic archetype. That year, he also released a viral parody of White Claw Hard Seltzer and a related line of shirts. White Claw responded with a cease and desist order.

Wallace moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and began an internship with the sketch-comedy school and troupe The Groundlings. He later became a regular contributor to the Los Angeles-based All Def Digital channel, appearing in comedy programming including Great Taste. His work has also been featured by Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, HBO, Showtime, BuzzFeed, UNILAD, Funny or Die, Super Deluxe, Fusion TV, WorldStarHipHop, and MTV2.

Wallace performs stand-up comedy at venues including San Jose Improv, Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville, and the Orpheum Theatre in Arizona. He also performed at the Hollywood Improv Comedy Club in 2017. In 2020, he received a Shorty Award nomination in the comedy category.

Wallace and fellow comedian Michael Blaustein co-host the comedy podcast Stiff Socks, which began in 2019. Their collaboration is part of Wallace's broader work across stand-up, podcasting, and internet comedy.

As an actor, Wallace has appeared in Add-TV, Dude, Where's My JUUL?, Mini-Mocks, G.O.A.T., Addiction Busters, On Deck, Drugstore June, The Real Bros of Simi Valley: The Movie, and Big City Greens. He played Trevor in Dude, Where's My JUUL?, Goose in On Deck, and Gary in Drugstore June. His first hour-long comedy special, Pterodactyl, premiered on Amazon Prime in November 2023, with Wallace also credited as its executive producer.
