Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas has been married to actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas since December 2018. They married at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in Hindu and Christian ceremonies. In January 2022, the couple announced the birth of their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, via surrogacy.

Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13 and uses an insulin pump to manage the condition. He has supported diabetes awareness through the Change for the Children Foundation, public service announcements, and advocacy for increased research funding. He also co-founded Beyond Type 1, a nonprofit focused on diabetes education and advocacy.

Jonas began performing on Broadway as a child, appearing in productions including A Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun, Beauty and the Beast, and Les Misérables. While performing in Beauty and the Beast in 2002, he wrote "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)" with his father. The song led to a recording opportunity with INO Records and Columbia Records.

Jonas initially pursued a solo recording career, but Columbia executives became interested in the music he made with his brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas. The three formed the Jonas Brothers, releasing It's About Time in 2006 and the self-titled Jonas Brothers in 2007. Their rise accelerated through Disney Channel appearances, including Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, and Jonas.

The band's 2008 album A Little Bit Longer became their first number-one album on the Billboard 200, while "Burnin' Up" reached the U.S. top five. Their fourth album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, also debuted at number one. The brothers broke up in 2013 after canceling a planned tour amid creative differences, then reunited in 2019 with the single "Sucker" and the album Happiness Begins. "Sucker" debuted at number one and received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Jonas released his first solo album, Nicholas Jonas, in 2004. During the Jonas Brothers' hiatus, he formed Nick Jonas & the Administration, whose album Who I Am was released in 2010 and reached number three on the Billboard 200.

After the Jonas Brothers split, he resumed his solo career with the 2014 album Nick Jonas. Its single "Jealous" became his first top-ten solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number seven. He followed the album with Last Year Was Complicated in 2016, which reached number two on the Billboard 200, and Spaceman in 2021.

Jonas co-founded Safehouse Records with Demi Lovato in 2015. He also co-headlined the Future Now Tour with Lovato in 2016. His songwriting earned him the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016, and his song "Home" from Ferdinand received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song.

Jonas's early screen work included the Disney Channel films Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, as well as the series Jonas. He later took more dramatic roles, playing Nate Kulina in the mixed martial arts series Kingdom and Boone Clemens in Scream Queens.

His film credits include Careful What You Wish For, Goat, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level, Midway, Chaos Walking, Love Again, The Good Half, and You're Cordially Invited. In Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its sequel, he played Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough. He also appeared in the animated film UglyDolls and provided music for its soundtrack.

Jonas served as a coach on The Voice for seasons 18 and 20 and hosted the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. His stage work includes playing Marius Pontmercy in the West End production of Les Misérables, Link Larkin in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl, and J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He later played Jamie Wellerstein in the Broadway production of The Last Five Years.
