Steve Gerben

Gerben has arthritis that limits him to fully using one of his fingers. He explained in 2021 that COVID-19 made the condition worse and that his medication had stopped working.

He has appeared on Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast, Flagrant, Late Night with Seth Meyers, No Bad Lies, Look at Dish with Tommy Pope and Chris O'Connor and RoneDotCom.

Gerben is a creator, writer, executive producer and actor on Tires. He plays Will, the manager of his father's Valley Forge auto-repair shop, in the Netflix series. The comedy draws partly on Gerben's personal experience, since his father owned an auto-repair shop and Gerben worked there before his entertainment career developed.

The series was initially planned for YouTube before being acquired by Quibi. After Quibi shut down, the project was acquired by Netflix. Gerben worked on the series with comedian Shane Gillis.

Gerben worked with Shane Gillis and John McKeever on the sketch-comedy series Gilly and Keeves. He received writing credits on the series and Gilly and Keeves: The Special, and played several characters, including Glenn, the White Quarterback and Steven.

He played Gordy in Delco Proper, a series set around Philadelphia that McKeever directed and Gillis wrote. Gerben also played Mayor Steve in Holly and the Hot Chocolate, a film produced by McKeever.

Gerben grew up in the Tredyffrin/Easttown area of Pennsylvania, near Berwyn. He attended George Washington University before leaving and later attended Delaware County Community College without graduating.

Before establishing himself in comedy and acting, he worked as a postal carrier in Berwyn and as a paralegal for his brother, who is a trademark attorney. He began his entertainment career as a stand-up comedian.
