Leanne Morgan is an American comedian and actress known for her Netflix special Leanne Morgan: I'm Every Woman. She has also starred in the Netflix sitcom Leanne and appeared in the film You're Cordially Invited.

Personal life

Morgan has been married to Chuck Morgan since 1993. They have three children, a son named Charlie and two daughters named Maggie and Tess. The family has lived in Bean Station, San Antonio, and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Morgan grew up in Adams, Tennessee, in a farming family that operated a meat-processing business. She attended the University of Tennessee and earned a degree in Child and Family Studies.

From jewelry sales to stand-up comedy

Morgan developed her comedy material while selling jewelry at in-home parties after the birth of her first child. Instead of focusing only on the jewelry, she talked with guests about motherhood and everyday experiences, gradually turning those conversations into a comedy act. Her parties became popular, and she was later invited to speak at jewelry-company sales rallies.

After her family moved to San Antonio in 2001, Morgan gained access to comedy clubs and began performing open mics in Austin. She later appeared at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Her early work also included appearances with the comedy groups Southern Fried Chicks and Country Cool, as well as a co-hosting role on Chewing the Fat with Reno Collier.

A viral video about older people attending Def Leppard and Journey concerts helped expand her audience. The clip received more than 30 million views, after which she began selling out shows across the United States.

Comedy specials and touring

Morgan's stand-up is built around Southern storytelling and observations about marriage, parenting, motherhood, menopause, and aging. Her special So Yummy received more than 50 million views on YouTube, while her 2023 Netflix special Leanne Morgan: I'm Every Woman reached Netflix's top ten comedy specials.

She concluded The Big Panty Tour in 2022 after more than 100 theater performances. Her subsequent Just Getting Started tour began in February 2023 and sold more than 100,000 tickets during its first six months, including performances at the Chicago Theatre, American Airlines Arena, and Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

Her second Netflix special, Unspeakable Things, premiered in November 2025 at number one worldwide. It received a 2026 Critics' Choice Association nomination for Best Comedy Special and won a 2026 Gracie Award.

Television, film, and writing

Morgan made her film debut as Gwyneth in the romantic comedy You're Cordially Invited, appearing alongside Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. She also appeared on programs including The View, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Paula's Party, and Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom, where she finished as runner-up.

Her Netflix sitcom Leanne was created with producer Chuck Lorre and is inspired by her stand-up comedy. Morgan stars in the series and served as its co-creator, writer, and executive producer. The 16-episode first season premiered in July 2025 and entered Netflix's Global Top 10.

Morgan released her first book, What in the World?! A Southern Woman's Guide to Laughing at Life's Unexpected Curveballs and Beautiful Blessings, in September 2024. The memoir became a New York Times bestseller. She also co-hosts the podcast Sweaty and Pissed with nurse practitioner Karen Nickell, focusing on menopause-related topics.
