Kevin Love

Kevin Love married Canadian model Kate Bock on June 25, 2022, at the New York Public Library in New York City. The couple welcomed their first child in June 2023. Love is the son of former NBA player Stan Love and Karen Love, and his uncle Mike Love is a founding member of the Beach Boys.

In 2018, Love wrote about experiencing a panic attack during a game and seeking therapy afterward. He has also discussed his struggles with anxiety, depression, rage, and periods of isolation. That year, he established the Kevin Love Fund, which supports mental health education and resources, including social and emotional learning programs for students.

Love attended Lake Oswego High School in Oregon, where he helped the Lakers reach the state championship game three consecutive years and win the state title in 2006. He finished his high school career as Oregon's all-time leading scorer with 2,628 points and was named the 2007 Gatorade National Male Athlete of the Year.

Love played one season for UCLA in 2007-08, averaging 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He led the Bruins to the Pac-10 regular-season and tournament titles and a Final Four appearance in the 2008 NCAA tournament. He was named a consensus first-team All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year before entering the 2008 NBA draft.

The Memphis Grizzlies selected Love fifth overall in the 2008 NBA draft and traded his draft rights to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night. He made the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2009 and became one of the league's leading rebounders during his six seasons in Minnesota.

In 2010, Love recorded 31 points and 31 rebounds against the New York Knicks, producing the NBA's first 30-point, 30-rebound game in 28 years. During the 2010-11 season, he recorded 53 consecutive double-doubles, led the NBA in rebounding, and won the Most Improved Player Award. He also became a five-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA Second Team selection during his career.

Minnesota traded Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014, where he joined LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. The Cavaliers reached the 2015 NBA Finals, although Love missed the rest of the playoffs after suffering a dislocated left shoulder in the first round.

Love played a major role in Cleveland's 2016 championship season. The Cavaliers became the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, defeating the Golden State Warriors in seven games to win the first major sports championship in Cleveland in 52 years. Love later became a reserve and finished runner-up for the 2021-22 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.

After agreeing to a buyout with Cleveland in February 2023, Love joined the Miami Heat and helped the team reach the 2023 NBA Finals. He was traded to the Utah Jazz in July 2025. His other professional honors include winning the 2012 NBA Three-Point Contest and leading the NBA in rebounding in 2011.

Love won gold medals with the United States at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. At the Olympics, he played in all eight games and averaged 11.6 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game.

He was selected for the 2021 Olympic team but withdrew because he had not fully recovered from a right calf injury. Across the USA teams that he represented in the 2010 World Championship and 2012 Olympics, he remained unbeaten.
