Jenny Marrs

Jenny Marrs grew up in Orlando, Florida, and earned a degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. After college, she worked in marketing and sales for Newell Brands' Rubbermaid division in Arkansas.

She met Dave Marrs while they were working for the same company in different departments. Their relationship became long-distance when Dave's work took him to Chicago and Austin, before he left the corporate world and returned to Northwest Arkansas to pursue home-building and remodeling.

Jenny and Dave Marrs moved to Bentonville in 2004, where Dave founded Marrs Developing. Jenny initially continued working in the corporate sector, but she became increasingly interested in the design side of the company's renovation projects.

As the company moved from new construction toward restoring older properties, Marrs focused on preserving the character and history of vintage homes. She and Dave were married in April 2005, and Bentonville became their long-term home rather than a temporary move from Florida.

Marrs co-hosts HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous with Dave Marrs. The show centers on the restoration and renovation of historic homes in Northwest Arkansas. Dave leads the building and contracting work, while Jenny directs the design, decorating, finishes, and other visual details.

The couple were recruited for television after HGTV executives learned about their reputation for restoring older homes in small towns across the region. Marrs initially deleted the network's first email because she thought it was spam. After accepting the proposal, the couple made their down-to-earth approach and the character of their Arkansas communities central to the series.

Marrs and Dave have also appeared in Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn, Rock the Block, Home Town Takeover, Bargain Block, and Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano. The Welcome Inn spinoff followed their renovation of a historic Rogers, Arkansas, property, while Italiano documented their work on a centuries-old Italian villa.

Marrs is known for a rustic-modern approach that combines traditional and natural elements with selected modern or industrial details. She favors natural light, stone, wood, comfortable furnishings, and calming spaces, while adapting each project to the personality and needs of its owners.

Her design philosophy emphasizes homes that feel lived in rather than perfect or trend-driven. She views historic properties as especially valuable because their quirks and original character can give a renovation a distinctive sense of place. Her work includes lighting, hardware, paint colors, furniture, flooring, and other details that help turn a house into a welcoming home.

Jenny and Dave Marrs have five children: twin sons Nathan and Ben, daughters Sylvie and Charlotte, and son Luke. Sylvie was adopted from the Democratic Republic of Congo after the couple began exploring international adoption programs and later identified her as their daughter.

The adoption process took more than a year and a half. Marrs has connected family preservation and orphan care with her broader community work, including projects associated with The Berry Farm and international programs for children and teenagers in vulnerable communities.

Marrs and Dave live in a restored farmhouse built in 1906. The property had stood vacant near downtown Bentonville and was scheduled for demolition when the couple proposed moving it instead. They had the house divided into three sections, relocated it to nearby land, reassembled it, and renovated it.

The farmhouse was initially intended as a country retreat, but the couple eventually made it their family home. The property supports a farm lifestyle with dogs, cats, cows, chickens, sheep, a donkey, llamas, and alpacas.

In 2023, Marrs and Dave founded Marrs Mercantile in a restored 1905 bank building in downtown Centerton. The boutique sells home goods, products from regional artisans, and items associated with Fixer to Fabulous. Its design includes gas lamps, a patio, a pergola, and a play garden.

The couple also operate The Berry Farm, a Bentonville U-pick farm that grows organic produce and offers a setting for community events. Through a partnership with HelpOneNow, the farm supports agricultural and vocational training for orphaned and at-risk teenagers in Marondera, Zimbabwe. The annual Bentonville Berry Festival raises support for the farm-training program and for children and families in Zimbabwe and Belize.

Marrs and Dave launched The Marrs Collection with Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart, a home-goods line covering furniture, rugs, pillows, storage, candles, kitchenware, and outdoor furnishings. Marrs has also written about design, family life, faith, and the couple's farm in her books House + Love = Home and Trust God, Love People.
