Dave Marrs

After graduating college in 2002, Dave Marrs worked at Newell Brands' Rubbermaid, where he met Jenny Marrs in a different department. He left the corporate job in 2004 and moved to Arkansas to pursue building and construction, launching the company Marrs Developing. Dave and Jenny married in 2005, and Jenny joined the company full-time in 2012 after initially working in marketing and sales while contributing to its design projects.

Dave's work centers on construction, craftsmanship, and the restoration of historic homes. He has built custom homes, restored older properties, milled lumber, crafted furniture, and worked with local artisans. Together, Dave and Jenny have renovated more than 300 homes in Northwest Arkansas.

Dave and Jenny became television hosts through their renovation business and their work reviving historic homes in small-town communities. HGTV approached them about a program, and they did not submit a casting tape. The show's pilot aired in 2017 under the title Almost Home before the series was renamed Fixer to Fabulous and premiered on HGTV in 2019.

On Fixer to Fabulous, Dave leads the building and restoration work while Jenny handles design decisions involving finishes, furnishings, colors, and lighting. Their other television projects include Rock the Block, Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn, Fixer to Fabulous: Holiday Surprise, Design at Your Door, and Fixer to Fabulous Italiano.

For Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn, Dave and Jenny transformed an 1870s historic house near Rogers, Arkansas, into a three-bedroom bed-and-breakfast with en suite bathrooms, a wine cellar, a Bourbon Room, and a separate Smokehouse building.

Dave and Jenny have five children, including twin sons Nathan and Ben, daughters Sylvie and Charlotte, and son Luke. Nathan and Ben were born on May 29, 2010, after the couple pursued fertility treatment. They spent nearly a month in the hospital after being born following a difficult premature-labor experience.

The couple adopted Sylvie from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They found her adoption profile in November 2012, finalized the adoption in August 2013, and waited more than 600 days before she could travel to the United States because the Congolese government had suspended exit letters. Dave traveled to Congo and worked with officials and representatives while Jenny remained home during her high-risk pregnancy with Charlotte. Sylvie arrived in July 2014, about eight weeks after Charlotte's birth.

The family's youngest child, Luke, was born on June 11, 2019. Dave and Jenny have described adoption as an integral part of their family story, while emphasizing that all five children are their children. Nathan and Ben have generally chosen to appear less often on television, with the production team allowing the children to participate on their own terms.

Dave and Jenny live with their children on a rescued and restored farmhouse in Bentonville, Arkansas. Dave first encountered the dilapidated property in 2012 when it was slated for demolition, then moved it to land he had previously purchased. The farmhouse became one of the couple's major restoration projects and their family home.

The couple also established The Berry Farm, a blueberry farm in Arkansas created to provide educational skills and opportunities for orphaned and at-risk teenage boys in Marondera, Zimbabwe. The farm has grown into a working family property with animals including sheep, cows, mini donkeys, chickens, rabbits, and llamas.

Dave and Jenny place an American flag on every home they renovate as a tribute to people who have served the United States.
