Cody Ko

Ko met creator Kelsey Kreppel at a social gathering in June 2017, and the couple began dating later that year. Kreppel soon began appearing across Ko's videos and social media projects. The couple announced their engagement in December 2021 and were married on February 4, 2023, in Indian Wells, California.

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Otis, in January 2024. Beyond his online production work, Ko took up endurance running during the COVID-19 pandemic, completing several marathons as well as an Ironman Triathlon while documenting his athletic preparation on his dedicated channel, Cody Trains.

Ko was born Cody Michael Kolodziejzyk in Calgary, Alberta, to Helen and professional cyclist Greg Kolodziejzyk. He attended Duke University in North Carolina, where he served as captain of the varsity swimming and diving team and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in computer science.

Following graduation, Ko moved to Silicon Valley to work as a software engineer. In March 2012, he developed I'd Cap That, a photo-sharing mobile application that automatically added meme captions to pictures. The app became a viral hit, reaching number one in the App Store's free chart and attracting more than four million users in four months. The application was acquired by the startup Iddiction, where Ko worked for two years before taking a role as a senior iOS developer at Fullscreen in Los Angeles.

Ko began uploading short-form comedy sketches to Vine in 2013, creating the viral #6secondauditions meme format and earning nearly two million followers before the service shut down. He subsequently shifted his primary creative focus to YouTube, where his comedic commentary videos gained widespread traction.

His most successful YouTube format was That's Cringe, a reaction series co-hosted with Noel Miller that amassed over 150 million combined views. Alongside his internet commentary, Ko portrayed Wade Sanders as a core cast member of Jimmy Tatro's mockumentary series The Real Bros of Simi Valley, later reprising his role in the 2024 film adaptation.

In 2017, Ko and Miller established the satirical hip-hop group Tiny Meat Gang (TMG) and launched The Tiny Meat Gang Podcast. The duo released comedic rap projects such as Bangers & Ass and Locals Only, as well as the collaborative single "Short Kings Anthem" with Blackbear. In October 2019, TMG signed a record deal with Arista Records.

The Tiny Meat Gang Podcast received the Shorty Award for Best Podcast in 2019. In October 2021, Ko and Miller expanded their operation into TMG Studios, an independent podcast network that hosted multiple comedy and internet-culture productions.

In May 2024, online creator Tana Mongeau alleged on her podcast that she and Ko had engaged in a sexual relationship in Florida when she was 17 and he was 25, which would violate Florida statutory rape laws. The allegation drew renewed attention across social media and digital news outlets in July 2024.

Following widespread public scrutiny, Ko stepped down from day-to-day management and operations at TMG Studios on July 26, 2024. He subsequently paused his online releases before gradually returning to YouTube in late 2024.
