Candace Cameron Bure

Candace Cameron Bure has been married to Russian-American NHL hockey player Valeri Bure since June 22, 1996. Her Full House co-star Dave Coulier introduced them at a charity hockey game in 1994. They have three children, Natasha, Lev, and Maksim.

Bure has spoken about her Christian faith as a central part of her marriage and public life. She became a Christian at 12 and later worked with Christian organizations, including Compassion International. She also discussed experiencing bulimia nervosa in her early twenties.

Bure began acting in commercials as a child and made guest appearances on programs including St. Elsewhere, Punky Brewster, Growing Pains, and Who's the Boss?. Her film debut came in Some Kind of Wonderful in 1987, the same year she joined the cast of Full House.

At 11, she was cast as Donna Jo "D.J." Tanner, the oldest daughter of Bob Saget's Danny Tanner. Bure remained with the sitcom throughout its eight-season run from 1987 to 1995, appearing in 193 episodes. During that period, she also acted in Punchline with Tom Hanks and Sally Field and appeared in the television film Camp Cucamonga.

Bure returned to the role in Netflix's Fuller House, which premiered in 2016. The sequel followed D.J. Tanner-Fuller as a widow and mother. Bure appeared throughout the show's five-season run and also directed three episodes.

After Full House, Bure appeared in television films including No One Would Tell, She Cried No, and NightScream. She returned to regular television acting as Summer Van Horne on Make It or Break It, which ran from 2009 to 2012.

Her Hallmark work began with Moonlight and Mistletoe in 2008. She later starred in holiday films including Let It Snow, Christmas Under Wraps, Switched for Christmas, and If I Only Had Christmas. She also played librarian-detective Aurora Teagarden in an 18-film mystery series adapted from Charlaine Harris's novels.

Bure competed with Mark Ballas on season 18 of Dancing with the Stars in 2014, reaching the final and finishing in third place. She co-hosted The View during the 2015-2016 seasons before leaving because of commitments to Fuller House, Hallmark projects, and her family.

In 2022, Bure became chief content officer of Great American Media, then known as GAC Media. Her executive role involved developing, producing, and starring in original romantic comedy and holiday programming for the company's networks.

Bure said her move from Hallmark reflected a desire to make stories with greater meaning, purpose, depth, and faith-based themes. Her comments about keeping traditional marriage at the core of Great American Family programming drew public criticism, after which she said that people with various identities worked on the company's productions and that she had love and affection for all people.

Bure's books include Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness from 2011, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose from 2014, Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction from 2015, and Kind Is the New Classy: The Power of Living Graciously from 2018. Reshaping It All became a New York Times best seller.

She also wrote the children's books Candace Center Stage and Candace's Playful Puppy. Bure co-founded Candy Rock Entertainment, a company focused on developing family-friendly content, and has served as a producer on several television films.
