Ty Myers took 'Ends of the Earth' from his bedroom to country radio and the Billboard Hot 100. Born outside Austin, Texas, the singer-songwriter and guitarist blends traditional country storytelling with gritty southern soul and blues riffs. He broke out after a high school football injury pushed him toward music full-time. His debut studio album, The Select, arrived in 2025.

Early life and musical roots

Ty Myers grew up on a cattle ranch outside Austin, Texas, working land his family has held for over six generations. Music ran in the family. His father wrote and performed around local Austin clubs, while his grandmother played piano in church. Myers is the nephew of Dean Sams of Lonestar and is related to George Strait's longtime pianist Ronnie Huckaby.

He started playing guitar at seven and wrote his first songs by eight. By age 11, he was joining his father for songwriter swaps at venues like the Nutty Brown Café and Amphitheatre. In high school, he split time between baseball, football, and music. A torn ACL abruptly ended his football season. During recovery, his mother, Karysa Myers, created a TikTok account for his music. The setback shifted his entire focus to songwriting and guitar.

Cherry Ridge sessions and The Select

In 2023, Myers travelled to Floresville, Texas, to record eight tracks at Cherry Ridge Studio with producer Tommy Detamore. Detamore played steel guitar across the sessions, which yielded early releases such as 'Tie That Binds' and 'Drinkin' Alone'. The reaction was immediate. While on a family drive to Key West, three record labels contacted Myers in the span of 25 minutes. He signed a joint deal with Columbia Records and RECORDS Nashville, with management from Starstruck Entertainment.

His debut studio album, The Select, was released on January 24, 2025. He named the project after the fictional bar LA Select in Ernest Hemingway's novel The Sun Also Rises. The lead single, 'Ends of the Earth', earned RIAA Platinum certification and climbed into the top 20 on both the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.

Touring and Heavy on the Soul

Myers supported his debut with the sold-out 73-date Select Tour, headlining venues like New York's Bowery Ballroom and Gruene Hall in Texas. He also opened for Willie Nelson, Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, and Cody Johnson. During one show, Nelson invited him on stage to sing a gospel duet.

Myers recorded his sophomore album, Heavy on the Soul, at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, working alongside producer Brandon Hood. Following its announcement, he joined Luke Combs as an opening act across the 2026 My Kinda Saturday Night stadium tour.
