Cheryl Ladd

Cheryl Ladd married actor David Ladd in 1973, and they had a daughter, actress Jordan Ladd. They divorced in 1980, and Cheryl kept the Ladd surname. She has been married to music producer Brian Russell since 1981 and is stepmother to his daughter, Lindsay Russell.

In 2026, Ladd revealed that she had been treated for an aggressive form of breast cancer. She credited Brian Russell, her doctors, and her former Charlie's Angels colleagues with supporting her, and described herself as cancer-free.

Ladd's major acting breakthrough came in 1977, when she joined ABC's Charlie's Angels as Kris Munroe, the younger sister of Farrah Fawcett's character, Jill Munroe. The role connected her to the established cast members Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith while giving the series a story-based way to introduce a new Angel after Fawcett's departure.

Ladd remained on the series for four seasons, from 1977 until its cancellation in 1981. Her association with the show became the defining role of her career. In 2010, she and Jaclyn Smith accepted the TV Land Pop Culture Award for Charlie's Angels.

After Charlie's Angels, Ladd continued working extensively in television, including more than 30 made-for-television films. She portrayed Grace Kelly in the 1983 television biopic Grace Kelly and held the lead role of Dawn Holli Holliday in One West Waikiki from 1994 to 1996.

Her feature-film roles included Purple Hearts (1984), Millennium (1989), Lisa (1990), Poison Ivy (1992), Permanent Midnight (1998), and Unforgettable (2017). From 2003 to 2008, she played Jillian Deline, the wife of James Caan's character, in 29 episodes of the television drama Las Vegas.

Ladd also appeared in American Crime Story, Ray Donovan, Ballers, NCIS, Chuck, CSI: Miami, and several Hallmark and holiday television films.

Before establishing herself as an actress, Ladd traveled with the band The Music Shop and initially pursued a career as a singer. She provided the singing voice of Melody in the animated series Josie and the Pussycats under the name Cherie Moor and sang on the show's 1970 album.

During her Charlie's Angels years, she released three albums and performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XIV in 1980. Her 1978 single "Think It Over" reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and her album Cheryl Ladd earned a gold record.

In 2000, Ladd made her Broadway debut in the title role of the revival of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, taking over from Bernadette Peters. She also published the children's book The Adventures of Little Nettie Windship in 1996 and the autobiographical golf book Token Chick: A Woman's Guide to Golfing With the Boys in 2005.

Ladd continued taking television and film roles in the 2010s and 2020s, including Love's Everlasting Courage, The Christmas Contract, Grounded for Christmas, Christmas Unwrapped, A Cowgirl's Song, and A Christmas for the Ages.

In 2022, she competed on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars with professional partner Louis van Amstel. The pair were eliminated in the third week and finished 14th.
