Tom Segura is an American comedian and actor known for his Netflix stand-up specials, including Completely Normal, Mostly Stories, Disgraceful, Ball Hog, Sledgehammer, and Teacher. He is also known for co-hosting the podcasts Your Mom's House and 2 Bears 1 Cave, as well as creating and starring in the Netflix series Bad Thoughts.
Personal life
Tom Segura was married to comedian Christina Pazsitzky from 2008 until their separation in July 2026. They co-hosted Your Mom's House and have two sons, Ellis and Julian, born in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
Segura and Pazsitzky have drawn on parenthood in their stand-up routines and podcast conversations. Segura has described stories involving his sons' interests, including Ellis's enthusiasm for video games and Roblox and Julian's interest in cars.
Early life and stand-up comedy
Segura was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Rosario "Charo" Lazarte, a Peruvian immigrant, and Thomas Nadeau Segura. He grew up speaking Spanish and spent summers in Lima, Peru. He attended Saint Edward's School in Vero Beach, Florida, and graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.
He began performing stand-up shortly after college while working daytime jobs. His early industry work included an internship at Kopelson Entertainment and a job producing transcripts for reality programs such as Extreme Makeover and My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. He later performed at festivals including Just for Laughs, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and the Global Comedy Festival in Vancouver, and was a San Francisco regional finalist on Last Comic Standing 2.
His early stand-up albums include Thrilled and White Girls with Cornrows, both released in 2010 and 2012. His comedy has been characterized by observational humor, sarcasm, black comedy, insult comedy, and a deadpan delivery.

Segura's Netflix specials include Completely Normal (2014), Mostly Stories (2016), Disgraceful (2018), Ball Hog (2020), Sledgehammer (2023), and Teacher (2025). Sledgehammer debuted at number one on Netflix. His album Mostly Stories also topped the iTunes and Billboard Comedy charts for consecutive weeks.
In 2010, Segura and Christina Pazsitzky launched Your Mom's House, which they co-hosted together. Segura also co-hosts 2 Bears 1 Cave with comedian Bert Kreischer. He has frequently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and has also been a guest on WTF with Marc Maron and Adam Carolla's podcast.
Acting, writing, and Bad Thoughts
Segura's film roles include Russ in Instant Family, Derek in Countdown, a cop in The Opening Act, and Edward Terzian in Flinch. He has also appeared in Workaholics, Happy Endings, Gary Unmarried, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, and Comedy Central Presents.
He wrote, produced, directed, and played multiple characters in the Netflix dark comedy series Bad Thoughts. The series was produced through his company, YMH Studios, and received two Emmy nominations. Segura also published the humorous essay collection I'd Like to Play Alone, Please in 2022.
