In January 2024, Soobin donated 100 million won to the Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital. The contribution allocated 20 million won toward the direct treatment of pediatric patients facing severe medical conditions, with the remaining 80 million won dedicated to upgrading hospital facilities and treatment environments.

On November 19, 2024, Big Hit Music announced that Soobin would step back from upcoming promotional activities to rest after experiencing severe physical fatigue. Medical professionals advised him to take time off to recuperate. Following his recovery period, he resumed official public and group schedules on February 7, 2025.

Choi Soo-bin was born in Sangnok District, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He grew up as the youngest child in his family alongside an older sister and an older brother. During his middle school years, he developed an interest in performing after participating in a dance stage at a school festival. He drew early inspiration from first-generation and second-generation pop groups, including KARA, as well as labelmate BTS.

Soobin auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment in March 2016 by submitting an audition video. After joining the agency as a trainee, he briefly attended Ansan High School before deciding to withdraw to manage the demands of daily practice routines. He later obtained his secondary education credentials by passing the High School Graduation Equivalency Examination and enrolled in Global Cyber University's Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment.

On January 13, 2019, Big Hit Entertainment introduced Soobin as the second member of Tomorrow X Together. The group debuted on March 4, 2019, with the extended play The Dream Chapter: Star, fronted by the lead single "Crown." Although he was not the oldest member of the five-person ensemble, agency staff and his fellow members selected him as the official group leader following an internal evaluation period.

Throughout Tomorrow X Together's subsequent album cycles, Soobin contributed as both a vocalist and a lyricist. His songwriting credits include tracks such as "Maze in the Mirror," "Ghosting," "Ice Cream," "MOA Diary (Dubaddu Wari Wari)," "Blue Spring," "Quarter Life," and "Heaven." He also recorded solo material for group projects, including the charted track "Sunday Driver" from the 2025 album The Star Chapter: Together.

In July 2020, Soobin was appointed as a co-host of KBS's weekly music program Music Bank alongside Arin of Oh My Girl. The pair hosted the broadcast together until October 2021, earning the Best Couple Award at the 2020 KBS Entertainment Awards for their on-screen presentation. He also served as a backstage host for the KBS Song Festival in both 2020 and 2021.

Soobin expanded his broadcasting career into digital and reality formats starting in late 2024, when he began hosting the Pixid web series My Faves' Fave, a program where guests showcase their personal interests. He was later selected as a co-host for the 34th Seoul Music Awards and joined the hosting panel of the KBS2 reality series Noona Is a Woman to Me.
