Scooter Braun

Braun was married to Canadian health activist Yael Cohen from 2014 to 2022. They have three children, two sons born in 2015 and 2016 and a daughter born in 2018.

He grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, in a Conservative Jewish family. His parents, Ervin Braun and Susan Schlussel Braun, were a dentist and orthodontist, respectively. His paternal grandparents were Hungarian Jews who survived the Holocaust. While attending Greenwich High School, Braun served as class president and played on the basketball team.

Braun began organizing parties while attending Emory University in Atlanta. In 2002, he planned after-parties in five cities for the Anger Management Tour, which featured Eminem and Ludacris. He later became executive director of marketing at Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Records and organized events connected to the 2003 NBA All-Star Game and Britney Spears' 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour. He left Emory without completing a degree to pursue music and entertainment work.

In 2008, Braun discovered Justin Bieber after accidentally clicking on a YouTube video of the 13-year-old singer. He encouraged Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, to bring him to Atlanta to record demos and meet Usher. Braun and Usher subsequently formed Raymond-Braun Media Group, which partnered with Island Def Jam for Bieber's recording career. Braun later managed artists including Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Psy, Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, Martin Garrix, Kanye West, J Balvin, Dan + Shay, and the Kid Laroi.

Braun established SB Projects in 2007 as an entertainment and marketing company encompassing SB Management, School Boy Records, Sheba Publishing, and RBMG. The company worked on television campaigns, branding, music licensing, and tour sponsorships. Its projects included Bieber's Calvin Klein endorsement connected to the Purpose World Tour and a partnership between Kanye West and Adidas.

Braun founded Ithaca Holdings, which acquired Big Machine Label Group in 2019. The purchase included the masters of Taylor Swift's first six albums, leading to a public dispute after Swift denounced the transfer of ownership. Ithaca later sold the master recordings to Shamrock Holdings, and HYBE acquired Ithaca Holdings in 2021. Braun became CEO of HYBE America, retired from artist management in 2024, and later moved from the chief executive role to board member and senior advisor.

Braun produced Never Say Never, a documentary about Justin Bieber that earned more than $100 million worldwide. His executive-producer credits include Scorpion, Dave, Burden, Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, The Giver, The Boy from Medellín, and Project Runway. Dave became FX's most-watched comedy series during its first season.

He joined David Maisel, the founding chairman of Marvel Studios, to form Mythos Studios in 2018. Braun has also supported the Braun Family Foundation and Pencils of Promise, the charity founded by his brother Adam Braun. With Ariana Grande, Simon Moran, and Melvin Benn, he organized the 2017 One Love Manchester benefit concert, and he coordinated the Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande charity single "Stuck with U."
