Ninel Conde is a Mexican actress and singer known for playing Alma Rey in the telenovela Rebelde. She is also known for her roles as Rosario Montes in Fuego en la sangre and Evelina in El Señor de los Cielos, as well as her Latin pop and regional Mexican music.

Personal life

Ninel Conde was married to Mexican actor Ari Telch from 1996 to 1998, and they have a daughter, Sofía, who was born in May 1997. She was later married to businessman Juan Zepeda from 2007 until their separation in 2013.

Conde had a relationship with businessman Giovanni Medina, with whom she has a son, Emmanuel, born on October 21, 2014. She married Larry Ramos on October 28, 2020.

Breakthrough as Alma Rey in *Rebelde*

Conde began her acting career with a small role as Modelo in the television series Al derecho y al derbez in 1995. She studied acting at the Centro de Arte y Teatro Emilia Carranza and also attended acting studios run by Sergio Jiménez and René Pereira.

Her breakthrough came with the role of Alma Rey in Rebelde, which she played from 2004 to 2006. The telenovela expanded her profile beyond Mexico, reaching audiences in Chile, Romania, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Spain and Croatia. Her performance received a 2006 TVyNovelas Award nomination for Best Lead Actress.

Telenovela roles

In 2008, Conde played Rosario Montes in Fuego en la sangre, alongside Adela Noriega and Eduardo Yáñez. The role earned her a TVyNovelas Award nomination for Best Co-star Actress.

She played Catalina Mijares, also known as Coral, the main antagonist of Mar de amor from 2009 to 2010. Her later television roles included Discua Paz de la Soledad in Porque el amor manda, Carolina Tinoco Cruz in En tierras salvajes, and María de los Ángeles "Evelina" López in El Señor de los Cielos from 2018 to 2020.

Conde also appeared in three episodes of the American series Ugly Betty in 2006 and voiced Chiquis in Huevos: Little Rooster's Egg-cellent Adventure.

Music career and Latin pop albums

Conde released her self-titled debut album, Ninel Conde, in 2003. The album reached number three on the Mexican chart and included "Callados," a duet with José Manuel Figueroa. It received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Grupero Album in 2004.

Her second album, La Rebelde, followed in 2005 and reached number five in Mexico. She later released Ayer y Hoy in 2011, which reached number 12. Her music includes regional Mexican, Latin pop and cumbia, with songs such as "El Bombón Asesino," "Ni un Centavo" and "Callados."

Reality television and later appearances

In 2004, Conde participated in the third edition of Big Brother VIP in Mexico and was voted out after 43 days in the house. She also appeared on El Show de los Sueños alongside performers including Pee Wee, Kalimba Marichal, Gloria Trevi and Mariana Seoane.

Conde became a judge on the fourth season of Univision's dance competition Mira quién baila in 2013. She later appeared as herself in the reality series Secretos de las Indomables and competed in the third season of La casa de los famosos México.

In 2025, she reprised Alma Rey for the trailer for Karol G's album Tropicoqueta, appearing with Mexican actresses Anahí and Itatí Cantoral.
