Nadia Ferreira is a Paraguayan model and beauty pageant contestant known for finishing as first runner-up at Miss Universe 2021, the highest placement ever achieved by a Paraguayan contestant. She has also built an international fashion career through runway appearances, magazine covers, brand ambassadorships, and television presenting.

Personal life and health

Ferreira has been married to singer Marc Anthony since 28 January 2023. They married at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, where guests included David and Victoria Beckham, Salma Hayek, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Luis Fonsi. The couple have two children, Marco, born in June 2023, and Myla, born in July 2026.

Ferreira was raised primarily by her mother, Ludy Ferreira, and remained close to her father, physician Rodolfo Ritter. She has an older sister, Eli. As an infant, she underwent surgery for congenital torticollis, and at age ten she developed Susac syndrome, which temporarily affected her vision, hearing, and mobility.

Miss Universe Paraguay and the 2021 international pageant

Ferreira won Miss Teen Universe Paraguay in 2014 after beginning her modeling career at age thirteen. She represented Paraguay at Miss Teen Universe 2015 in Guatemala City, where she finished as third runner-up. In 2021, she was crowned Miss Universe Paraguay and represented her country at Miss Universe in Eilat, Israel.

At Miss Universe 2021, Ferreira advanced through the semifinal, swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer rounds to reach the final three. She ultimately finished as first runner-up behind India's Harnaaz Sandhu. The result became Paraguay's highest placement in Miss Universe history. Her national costume, inspired by the mainumby, or hummingbird, combined recycled textile waste with traditional Paraguayan fabrics and incorporated illuminated wings.

After the pageant, Paraguay's Senate named her an “ambassador of national beauty,” while Villarrica declared her an “illustrious daughter.” She later crowned Leah Ashmore as her successor at the Reinas del Paraguay 2022 pageant and served as a judge at Miss Universe 2023.

International modeling career

Ferreira moved to Asunción at age fifteen to pursue modeling professionally. Her early work included advertising campaigns, the Paseo La Galería shopping mall, and brands in Guatemala. She made her New York Fashion Week debut walking for Custo Barcelona in 2017 and later appeared at fashion events in New York, Santiago, Asunción, Qatar, Dubai, Germany, and Turkey.

She signed with Wilhelmina Models in 2018 and appeared on the covers of publications including Harper's Bazaar Vietnam, Glamour Bulgaria, Cosmopolitan, Elle, and L'Officiel. Her commercial work has included ambassadorships for Clear, Samsung, Alo Yoga, and Bulova. She launched her first fragrance, Dama, in 2025.

Ferreira also appeared on the Paraguayan television talent show Parodiando in 2015, where she performed impersonations of artists including Taylor Swift, Tini Stoessel, Jessie J, Lene Nystrøm, and Xuxa. She later expanded into presenting, including work at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, Premios Juventud, and Premio Lo Nuestro.

Sustainable development and charitable work

The United Nations Development Programme appointed Ferreira as an ambassador in Paraguay in 2022. Her advocacy has focused on sustainable development, environmental awareness, women’s empowerment, education, and community issues.

Ferreira has also worked with the Maestro Cares Foundation, which was founded by Marc Anthony and businessman Henry Cárdenas.
