Kim Minji is a South Korean singer known for performing in the K-pop girl group NewJeans. She debuted with the group under ADOR in August 2022 following the release of their breakthrough single "Attention".
Debut and Musical Releases
Minji trained under Source Music before debuting under the agency ADOR, an imprint of HYBE Labels. On July 22, 2022, the group teased their arrival with the release of the debut single "Attention". The group formally launched on August 1, 2022, with the release of their eponymous debut extended play, New Jeans.
Following their debut, the group gained international attention with subsequent releases, including the 2023 single "OMG", whose music video earned more than 50 million views on YouTube within months of release. The group has also been known by the abbreviation NJZ, with their official fandom named Bunnies.

Within NewJeans, Minji serves as a rapper and is recognized as the de facto leader, despite the group lacking formal fixed leadership positions. Alongside Minji, the original five-member lineup included Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
