Matan Even

Even gained international attention at age 12 during the 2019-2020 Hong Kong protests. At a Los Angeles Clippers game, he used the arena’s live dance-cam broadcast to display a T-shirt reading “Fight for Freedom, Stand up for Hong Kong,” echoing public criticism of the NBA’s relationship with China. The stunt became a widely viewed viral video and led to media coverage.

At BlizzCon 2019, Even interrupted a panel by shouting “Free Hong Kong” after Blizzard Entertainment suspended a Hong Kong player for expressing support for the pro-democracy movement. His first YouTube video was an interview with Owen Shroyer of InfoWars about the protests.

Even returned to widespread attention at The Game Awards in 2022, when he joined the Elden Ring development team onstage after the game won Game of the Year. Although he was not involved in the game’s development, he took the microphone and delivered a nonsensical speech dedicating the award to his “reformed Orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton.” He had purchased a regular ticket to the event.

The appearance made Even known by the nickname “The Bill Clinton Kid.” He was escorted away by security and police, while the speech prompted discussion about whether it carried a political meaning. Even later characterized the stunt as a prank and denied a far-right or political motivation.

After The Game Awards, Even expanded his online work through livestreams, interviews, and public pranks. He has appeared around figures including Kai Cenat, JaVale McGee, Hasan Piker, IShowSpeed, and Denzel Curry. His videos often involve interrupting public appearances, following livestreams, or creating deliberately awkward interactions with prominent internet personalities and entertainers.

Even’s online persona combines absurdist humor with commentary on American politics, free speech, activism, and other controversial subjects. He has maintained a distinctive accent as part of his public character while insisting that it is not fake. His streams have included gameplay from Minecraft and Elden Ring.

Even created and hosts The Matan Show, a podcast series built around interviews and character-driven comedy. IMDb credits him as the show’s director and writer across 35 episodes, while the program’s guests have included Sal Vulcano, George Santos, Sean O’Malley, and Howie Mandel.
