Laura Loomer

Loomer was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up with two brothers. Her parents divorced when she was 12, and she attended a boarding school in Arizona before enrolling at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She left after one semester and transferred to Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 2015.

She is Jewish. In 2025, she became engaged to her partner. Donald Trump publicly shared news of her engagement during a White House holiday gathering in December of that year.

Loomer entered political activism through undercover video work. In 2015, while at Barry University, she worked with Project Veritas to film administrators discussing proposed student groups. The university suspended her over the recording. She soon began staging confrontational demonstrations aimed at political figures and institutions.

In June 2017, she walked onto the stage during a Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar in New York City. She shouted that the staging normalized violence against Trump before security removed her. Police arrested her for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. She worked briefly for Rebel News that year before reporting independently for outlets such as InfoWars.

Her stunts continued across the country. In early 2019, she jumped the perimeter fence at Nancy Pelosi's California home with several men to pitch a tent on the lawn. Two weeks later, she climbed the wall outside the California Governor's Mansion in Sacramento. Police cited and released her group shortly after.

Online platforms began barring Loomer after repeated policy violations. Medium suspended her account in 2017. Later that year, Uber and Lyft banned her following anti-Muslim posts about drivers in New York City.

Twitter banned her in November 2018 for hateful conduct after posts targeting Representative Ilhan Omar. In response, Loomer handcuffed herself to the front door of Twitter's headquarters in New York City. She wore a yellow patch and demanded reinstatement. Two hours later, police cut her free with bolt cutters at her request. Payment services including PayPal, GoFundMe, and Venmo also closed her accounts. Elon Musk restored her Twitter account in December 2022.

Loomer turned to the courts to contest these bans and confront critics. In 2018, she sued Apple, Google, Facebook, and Twitter for alleged anti-conservative bias. Federal courts dismissed the case, and the Supreme Court declined to review it. She also sued the Council on American-Islamic Relations over claims related to her Twitter suspension. That suit failed, resulting in an order requiring her to pay CAIR over $120,000 in legal fees. In 2024, she filed a defamation action against television host Bill Maher and HBO, which a federal judge dismissed in April 2026.

Loomer entered electoral politics in Florida during the 2020 election cycle. She ran in the Republican primary for Florida's 21st congressional district, a Democratic stronghold that included Mar-a-Lago. She defeated five rivals with 42.5 percent of the primary vote. Trump endorsed her following the primary victory. In the general election, incumbent Democrat Lois Frankel defeated her by nearly twenty points.

She ran again in 2022 in Florida's 11th congressional district. This time, she challenged incumbent Republican Daniel Webster in the primary. Webster won with 51.1 percent against Loomer's 44.2 percent. Loomer refused to concede the election and alleged unverified ballot fraud.

Loomer remained an outspoken surrogate for Donald Trump throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, traveling with him to key events. She launched a streaming program, Loomer Unleashed, on Rumble and established an opposition research firm called Loomered Strategies.

Her access widened during Trump's second administration. She used her digital following to scrutinize federal personnel, urging the removal of officials she considered disloyal to the administration's platform. Following social media posts and Oval Office discussions in early 2025, several National Security Council aides and national security appointees departed their posts.

Her foreign policy positions shifted over time. After opposing American military aid to Ukraine for years, she reversed her position in July 2026. She stated she had previously relied on Russian propaganda. Later that month, she traveled to Kyiv, witnessed air raids, and interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
