Personal life

Laura Geller is a single mother to her son, Daniel. She is also a breast cancer survivor.

Geller serves on the boards of Cancer + Careers and the Dubin Breast Center of the Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai in New York City. Makeup artistry and the Upper East Side studio

Geller began working as a makeup artist in New York during the 1990s, including with theatrical actors on Broadway and in television, film, and theater. Her work appeared on series broadcast by CBS, NBC, AMC, and HBO, and she contributed beauty advice to publications including Cosmopolitan.

She founded Laura Geller Make-up Studios in New York City in 1993. The studio operated on Manhattan's Upper East Side for 20 years, where Geller translated professional application techniques into practical routines for everyday clients. Encouragement from her television clients helped prompt her to open the studio.

Laura Geller Beauty and QVC

Geller founded the Laura Geller Beauty cosmetics line in 1997 and made her first QVC appearance that year. She continued appearing on QVC in North America and Europe to demonstrate and sell products from the brand. The line became particularly associated with baked cosmetics handmade in Italy and the Spackle collection of primers.

The brand's products are formulated and marketed for mature skin, with offerings that include foundations, blushes, primers, lip colors, and setting powders. Its marketing exclusively features models over 40, and the company's website describes its beauty solutions as being made especially for women over 40. In 2023, Business Insider identified Laura Geller Beauty as the fastest-growing digital beauty and cosmetics brand in the United States.

The City of Hope honored Geller in 2011 for her support of multiple cancer-focused charities. Crain's New York Business named her one of its Top Entrepreneurs of the Year in 2012, and she received the CEW Achiever Award in 2014.
