Khalyla Kuhn

Khalyla Kuhn was born in Cebu to an American father and a Filipino mother, Marites Kuhn. She moved to the United States with her mother when she was young and has a sister named Julianna Kuhn.

She attended Cebu International School and later majored in biochemistry at college. Before entering podcasting and social media, she worked as a tutor in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology.

Kuhn became known online through TigerBelly, the podcast she created with Bobby Lee. IMDb credits her as a host and co-host on the podcast from 2015 through 2024, with more than 250 episodes listed. The program also developed a companion YouTube channel and the secondary channel TigerBellyClips, which publishes highlights from the main show.

The podcast has covered Asian-American life, politics, entertainment, racism, ethnicity, sexuality, and adolescence. Its guests have included Jordan Peele and Eric Stonestreet. Kuhn has also appeared as herself on Whiskey Ginger and The Endless Honeymoon Podcast.

Before becoming a podcaster, Kuhn dreamed of becoming a doctor and spent time caring for wounded birds, chicks, and frogs. She was also a competitive swimmer who joined the Philippines’ national swimming team at a young age.

Kuhn and Bobby Lee met through Tinder in 2013 and first met in person at a coffee shop in Long Beach, California. They began a long-term relationship, and Kuhn later moved to Los Angeles to be with him. Their professional partnership became the basis of TigerBelly.

Descriptions of their relationship vary, with some accounts calling them married after an August 2016 ceremony and others describing them as long-term partners who were not legally married. They announced their breakup on episode 355 of TigerBelly in July 2022 after about a decade together, while continuing to co-host the podcast.

In a 2022 episode of Trash Tuesday, Kuhn discussed a comedian identified by the initials B.S. and later identified him as Brendan Schaub. The discussion became a subject of attention among comedy fans.

Schaub accused the TigerBelly cast of defamation. Kuhn, Lee, and Schaub later spoke about the matter, but the conversation did not resolve their disagreement.
