Kami Kehoe

Kehoe started playing drums at age three. At six, she formed a rock band with her two older sisters, serving as the drummer, writer, and backup vocalist. She also filmed and edited the band's content during its 10-year run, which ended when she was 16.

After the band split, Kehoe continued making music as a solo artist. She taught herself music production and audio engineering, and has written, produced, mixed, sung, and played drums and keyboards on her music. Her vocal and songwriting style draws from pop, alternative rock, and R&B, while her broader work also includes hip-hop, indie, country, funk, and a Spanish-language song titled "Lo Siento."

Kehoe released the album Drama Queen in 2023. She developed it as a concept album about the stages of a breakup, with songs addressing betrayal, regret, unhealthy coping, self-realization, forgiveness, and the experience of feeling disconnected from oneself.

Her single "Loaded Gun" served as the focus track for the project. Kehoe wrote it with her producer Will after an emotionally painful relationship, turning the phrase "walking in love" into the song's central image. She described recording the track as a way to process anger and regain a sense of strength, and made and edited its lyric video herself in her room.

"Sleep When I'm Dead," released in October 2023, attracted more than 1.3 million YouTube views. Other tracks associated with Kehoe include "hate ur f**king self," "Emotionally Unavailable," and "Break My Heart."

Kehoe uses the motto "Kure the World" to express her goal of helping people through music. She has connected that purpose to the emotional directness of her songwriting, describing music as a form of therapy and as a way for listeners to recognize their own experiences.

Her songs address subjects including motivation, society, self-reflection, love, and heartbreak. She aims to leave room for listeners to interpret the songs through their own experiences, while using personal stories to create a broader emotional connection.

Kehoe has built a live presence in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles music scenes, including a sold-out performance at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles. Her online visibility has also been driven by videos showcasing her drumming, which have received more than 24 million views across social media.

She worked with producer John Feldmann and Aaron on the single "Where Did It All Go Wrong." The song explores regret and the experience of remembering a relationship after the other person has left one's life. Kehoe has also continued writing and developing new concept-album material.
