Justina Valentine

Justina Valentine is an American rapper and singer known for her hip-hop, R&B, and soul-influenced music. She is also recognized for her long-running role on MTV's improv comedy show Wild 'n Out, as well as her work as a television host, actress, writer, producer, and director.

Early life

Justina Valentine was born in Passaic, United States, and is of Italian descent. She grew up in a family of musicians, worked in theatre, and studied dancing as a child. Her early interests centered on hip hop and R&B, and she began recording her own music in 2006.

Her first major live exposure came through the Vans Warped Tour in 2012, where she gained recognition as a performer. That same year, she released her first mixtape, Route 80, which included the singles "Bubble Gum" and "Hip-hop Joan Jett."

Career

Valentine released the EP Valentine in 2013, which debuted at number 38 on the iTunes R&B charts. Her second mixtape, Red Velvet, followed in 2014, and her first studio album, Scarlet Letter, was released in 2016. Valentine joined the cast of MTV's Wild 'n Out in season 8 in 2016 and became the show's longest-running female cast member. She also competed on The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, reaching the finale as a runner-up alongside Michelle Waterson and Josh Murray. In 2019, she hosted the reunion for The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2.

Television and film

Valentine's television work has included hosting and co-hosting roles on Singled Out, TRL, Lip Locked, Basic to Bougie, The Jersey Shore Reunion, Ridiculousness, Double Shot at Love, and How Far Is Tattoo Far? She co-hosted Singled Out with Conceited, her fellow Wild 'n Out cast member, and appeared alongside Nick Cannon on his daytime talk show during the recurring "The Rap Up" segment.

In 2022, Valentine became a host of the podcast series MTV's Women of Wild 'n Out with B. Simone and Pretty Vee. She starred in the VH1 original film Fuhgeddabout Christmas, for which she also served as executive producer and director, wrote the screenplay, and created the original soundtrack.
