YNW BSlime

Brandon King was born on April 10, 2007, in Gifford, Florida. Raised alongside his older brother Jamell Demons, known professionally as YNW Melly, King was exposed to music creation at a young age. By age six, he sat in his brother's room helping him write lyrics and construct melodies in composition notebooks.

King began freestyling during middle school lunch breaks in the seventh grade. His transition from casual rapping to professional studio recording came after his older brother urged him to stop playing video games and threatened to cut off funding for his Fortnite V-Bucks if he did not accompany him to a recording session in Miami. The studio environment motivated King to pursue recording seriously. His brother gave him the stage name YNW BSlime, incorporating the YNW crew initials, his first initial, and the moniker Slime. King later chose to leave high school to focus on his music career.

In May 2019, King gained widespread public attention when rapper Yung Bans brought him onto the stage at the Rolling Loud Miami music festival to perform YNW Melly's hit "Murder on My Mind" while Melly was incarcerated. In July 2019, at age 12, King released his debut commercial single, "Hot Sauce", produced by DJ Chose. The song established his profile as a solo artist.

He quickly followed his initial release with a succession of tracks, including "Baby Slime Freestyle", "Slime Emotions", and the tribute song "Free Melly (YNW Melly Tribute)". His single "Slime Dreams" became a breakout hit, surpassing one million views within hours of its release and accumulating tens of millions of streams. In November 2019, King released his debut studio album, Baby Goat, which featured guest appearances from Lil Tjay and YNW Melly. The project showcased his melodic delivery on tracks such as "Just Want You".

Following his debut project, King maintained a regular schedule of releases across subsequent years. In November 2020, he teamed up with Trippie Redd for the single and music video "Nightmares". He opened 2021 with the tracks "Valenslime" and "OTW", followed by "Citi Trends", a collaboration with NLE Choppa released in October 2021.

In January 2022, King ventured into genre-blending music by featuring on country-rap artist Kidd G's single "Left Me". Later that year, he released "The Mob", featuring YNW Melly, YNW Bortlen, and Trippie Redd, alongside solo and collaborative tracks such as "Free Melly" featuring DC the Don and "Keep Trying" featuring BabyTron. In 2024, King contributed guest vocals to four tracks on his brother's album Young New Wave ("Top Off", "772 Love Pt. 3", "Save Me", and "Vile") and released his second studio album, Selfless, in September 2024.

King's musical output combines contemporary trap production with smooth R&B melodies and autotuned vocal delivery. Critics have noted that while his melodic cadence shares similarities with his brother YNW Melly, King's vocal tone possesses a brighter, more playful texture suited to themes of youth, romance, and personal ambition.

King has cited his older brother YNW Melly, Travis Scott, and XXXTentacion as his primary musical influences, while reviewers have also compared elements of his delivery to artists like Young Thug, Juice WRLD, and Future.
