Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff has been married to musician Matthew Koma since 2019. They have three daughters, Banks, Mae, and Townes. Duff's son Luca was born during her previous marriage to NHL player Mike Comrie, which lasted from 2010 to 2016.

Duff is the younger sister of actress Haylie Duff. The sisters performed together in a BalletMet production of The Nutcracker in San Antonio, and later co-starred in the film Material Girls.

Duff began acting as a child and had her first starring film role as Wendy in Casper Meets Wendy in 1998. After she was dropped from the cast of the sitcom Daddio, she was cast as the title character in Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire. The series premiered in 2001 and made her a household name among younger audiences. She reprised the role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003, which grossed more than $55 million worldwide.

Her early film work included Cadet Kelly, Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper by the Dozen, A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, The Perfect Man, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. She later pursued more mature and independent roles in films such as War, Inc., According to Greta, Stay Cool, Bloodworth, and The Haunting of Sharon Tate. Duff also appeared as Olivia Burke in six episodes of Gossip Girl in 2009.

Duff began her recording career with the holiday album Santa Claus Lane in 2002. Her first major pop success came with Metamorphosis, released in 2003 through Hollywood Records. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and included the singles "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean." She followed it with the self-titled album Hilary Duff in 2004 and the compilation Most Wanted in 2005, which also reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Her fourth studio album, Dignity, arrived in 2007 with a dance-pop and electropop sound. Duff co-wrote thirteen of its fourteen songs, including material addressing her parents' divorce, a breakup, and a stalking incident. After releasing Breathe In. Breathe Out. in 2015, she returned to music with Luck... or Something in 2026.

From 2015 to 2021, Duff played book editor Kelsey Peters in the TV Land comedy-drama series Younger. The role marked her first major television series part since Lizzie McGuire and earned her nominations from the People's Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and Gracie Allen Awards.

Duff later produced and starred as Sophie in Hulu's How I Met Your Father, a spinoff of How I Met Your Mother. The series premiered in 2022, ran for two seasons, and was canceled in 2023. She was also attached to a planned Lizzie McGuire revival, but the project was scrapped after two episodes had been filmed.

Duff co-wrote the young adult novel Elixir with Elise Allen in 2010. The book topped The New York Times best-seller list and was followed by Devoted and True. She later published the children's picture books My Little Brave Girl and My Little Sweet Boy.

Her business projects have included the clothing line Stuff by Hilary Duff, the fragrance With Love... Hilary Duff, the Femme for DKNY Jeans collection, the eyewear line Muse x Hilary Duff, and children's and personal-care brands. She has also supported youth and children's charities, donated to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, and appeared in a public-service announcement promoting respectful language toward LGBTQ youth.
