Dillon Brooks

Brooks was in a relationship with Heather Andrews, and they have two children together.

On March 6, 2026, he was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Brooks played high school basketball at Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Toronto and Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, before joining the Oregon Ducks. As a freshman, he averaged 11.5 points per game and made the Pac-12 All-Freshman team.

In his sophomore season, Brooks averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game while helping Oregon win the Pac-12 regular-season title and reach the Elite Eight of the 2016 NCAA tournament. He earned first-team All-Pac-12 and third-team All-American honors that season, then was named Pac-12 Player of the Year and a consensus second-team All-American in 2017.

The Houston Rockets selected Brooks with the 45th pick in the 2017 NBA draft and immediately traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored 19 points in his NBA debut, the most by a Canadian-born player in an NBA debut at the time. Brooks made his first playoff appearance with Memphis in 2021, scoring 31 points in Game 1 against the Utah Jazz.

Brooks signed a multiyear extension with the Grizzlies in 2020 after averaging 16.1 points per game during the first half of the season. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2023, the same season in which his physical style and frequent trash talk contributed to his nickname, "Dillon the Villain." He also had a public back-and-forth with Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green during the 2022-23 season.

Brooks joined the Houston Rockets in 2023 through a sign-and-trade agreement. In January 2025, he made a career-high ten three-pointers in a game against the Boston Celtics, setting a Rockets franchise record for three-pointers in a game.

The Phoenix Suns acquired Brooks in a seven-team trade in July 2025. During the 2025-26 season, he averaged a career-high 20.2 points per game and led Phoenix in scoring during its first-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Brooks represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games, where the team won the silver medal. He later committed to a three-year program with Canada's senior men's national team as the country pursued qualification for the Olympic basketball tournament.

At the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Brooks helped Canada win its first global tournament medal in basketball since 1936. He scored a team-best 39 points in Canada's bronze-medal victory over the United States, setting a Canadian single-game scoring record at the World Cup, and was named the tournament's Best Defensive Player. He also represented Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

In 2024, Brooks became an angel investor in Panda Hub, a mobile car-detailing marketplace operating in North America.

His involvement began after he used the service in Houston and later invested in the company because of its technology-based approach to arranging car care.
