Chad Michael Murray

Murray was married to his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush from 2005 until their divorce in 2006. He became engaged to actress Kenzie Dalton in 2006, but they ended their engagement in 2013.

He has been married to actress Sarah Roemer since 2015. They have three children, a son born in 2015 and daughters born in 2017 and 2023.

Murray won a scholarship to attend a modeling convention in Orlando, Florida, where he met an agent who encouraged him to move to Los Angeles. He began modeling for brands including Skechers, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gucci before pursuing acting.

His early television roles included Tristin DuGray on Gilmore Girls and Charlie Todd on Dawson's Creek. In 2003, he was cast as Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill, the role that established him as a leading television actor. He won Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Actor in 2004 and Choice TV Actor, Drama, in 2008.

Murray appeared with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday and starred opposite Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story. He later played Nick Jones in House of Wax, Jordan Owens in Home of the Brave, Officer Ingram in Fruitvale Station, and Jamie Tworkowski in To Write Love on Her Arms.

His later television credits include Jacob Orr in Chosen, Agent Jack Thompson in Agent Carter, Sam Phillips in Sun Records, Xander McPherson in Star, and Edgar Evernever in Riverdale. He plays Cal Jones in the CTV drama series Sullivan's Crossing. He also appeared as Lucas in the Netflix film Mother of the Bride and returned as Jake Austin in Freakier Friday.

Murray wrote the graphic novel Everlast, released in 2011. He also co-authored the 2017 romantic thriller novel American Drifter with Heather Graham.

During his time on One Tree Hill, he wrote the episode “We Three (My Echo, My Shadow and Me)” and directed “A Hand to Take Hold of the Scene.” In 2010, he played Alicia Keys's love interest in the music video for “Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready),” which won Outstanding Music Video at the 42nd NAACP Image Awards.
