Briley King drew major attention with her cover of "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia," a song made famous by Reba McEntire. Marcus King invited her to perform it at the Marcus King Band Family Reunion Festival, and a video of the performance spread across social media. The cover received more than 18.9 million TikTok views and nearly 350,000 Instagram likes, while McEntire reacted to the performance with clapping emojis.

King later recorded the song professionally and began considering a broader music career. She has also released songs including "Let It Snow," "Yellow," and "XO," and has covered music by Vance Joy and Kacey Musgraves. Ella Langley supported her during the studio recording, with Marcus King and Ernest also present.

King is the founder of Little Bird Trucking, a fashion brand built around feathered trucker hats, bold colors, vintage-inspired clothing, and apparel designed for life on the road. The company grew from her habit of wearing trucker hats while traveling on Marcus King's tour bus, where limited opportunities to wash and style her hair made the hats especially practical.

King hand-makes the hats and has described producing around 200 per day while also handling packaging, shipping, customer inquiries, and social media. Little Bird Trucking has collaborated with the Houston Rodeo and Mignonne Gavigan, the designer of the bird earrings King wore when she met Marcus. The brand's name reflects both her father Brian Hussey's work as a long-haul truck driver and Marcus King's first description of her as a "little bird."

King met Marcus King in July 2021 at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina. Before that meeting, she had attended one of his shows in Charlotte and tagged his social-media accounts in a post. Marcus replied to the post and invited her to his Raleigh concert, where they connected after the performance. King later went to his tour bus wearing a large caftan and bird earrings, prompting Marcus to tell her that she looked like a "little bird."

The couple became engaged seven months after meeting and married in February 2023 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Centre in Nashville. Jamey Johnson officiated the ceremony after becoming acquainted with King and discovering that they shared the same birthday. King has performed with Marcus as a backing vocalist and occasional duet partner, and she was invited on stage when he opened for Greta Van Fleet.

Fashion was central to King's rise on social media before her singing became a major focus. She built an audience with photographs and videos featuring unexpected clothing combinations, bright colors, bold prints, statement headwear, and trucker hats. She began posting on TikTok in 2020, and many of her videos focus on styling and everyday aspects of her relationship with Marcus.

King has continued to connect fashion with music by creating outfit concepts for performances and developing a TikTok series based on scenarios posed by viewers. Her social-media work includes a video about sleeping in separate rooms from her fiancé while visiting her parents that surpassed 19 million views. She has also sung the United States national anthem at sporting events and at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Raleigh in 2015.
