Tyler Posey

Posey married singer-songwriter Phem in October 2023. They began dating in 2020 and announced their engagement in February 2022. He was previously engaged to his childhood sweetheart, Seana Gorlick, in 2013, but the engagement was later called off.

In July 2021, Posey came out as queer and sexually fluid. He had previously discussed hooking up with men and said he did not like to label his sexuality.

Posey's mother, Cyndi Terese Garcia, died of breast cancer in December 2014. The fifth season of Teen Wolf was dedicated to her memory.

Posey began performing onstage with his actor-writer father, John Posey, at the age of six. He developed an early interest in the arts and worked in television and film as a child.

His first major role was Raul Garcia on the television series Doc, which he played from 2001 to 2004. The performance brought Young Artist Award nominations in 2002 and 2004. He also played Ty Ventura in the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan and appeared in Collateral Damage.

In 2007, Posey was considered for the role of Jacob Black in the Twilight film series, but the part went to his friend Taylor Lautner. Posey later appeared in television series including Smallville, Brothers & Sisters and Lincoln Heights.

Posey's breakout role came in 2011 when he was cast as Scott McCall, the central character in MTV's Teen Wolf. Scott is a high school student who becomes a werewolf and tries to protect his loved ones while concealing his supernatural identity. Posey played the character throughout the series' 100 episodes from 2011 to 2017.

At the start of the show's fifth season, Posey became a co-producer. He also hosted episodes of the aftershow Wolf Watch and made his television directorial debut by directing the season six episode "After Images."

His work on Teen Wolf earned him an ALMA Award, an Imagen Award, two Teen Choice Awards and a Young Hollywood Award, along with nominations for a Saturn Award and a People's Choice Award. He returned as Scott McCall and served as a producer on Teen Wolf: The Movie, released in 2023.

After Teen Wolf, Posey played Adam in Jane the Virgin, Lucas Moreno in the supernatural thriller Truth or Dare, Shane in Scream: Resurrection and Gabriel in Now Apocalypse. His other film roles include Doug in White Frog, David in Scary Movie 5, Gordon Greenleaf in Yoga Hosers, Ricky in The Last Summer and Aidan in Alone.

Posey voiced Prince Alonso in Elena of Avalor and Dante Pertuz, also known as Inferno, in several Marvel Rising productions. From 2019 to 2021, he voiced Tony Toretto in the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers.

In 2023, he competed as Hawk on season ten of The Masked Singer and was eliminated on Harry Potter Night. He later appeared on The Surreal Life and in The Real Full Monty.

Posey has performed as a singer-songwriter, guitarist and bassist. He co-founded Lost in Kostko in 2009 and fronted the group, which later used the name Disappearing Jamie. The band released the eight-track EP You're Gonna Need a Towel in 2011, and its song "Dexter" was featured in an episode of Teen Wolf.

He later played guitar and contributed vocals to the pop-punk band PVMNTS with Freddy Ramirez and Nick Guzman. The group released the song "Standing (On My Own Two Feet)," which Posey wrote about the death of his mother, and issued the EP Better Days in 2018.

In 2019, Posey left PVMNTS and formed Five North with his childhood friend Kyle Murphy. The band recruited drummer Scott Eckel, released the single "This Mess" and issued the EP Scumbag in 2020. Posey's solo releases include the EP Drugs and the album Unravel.
