Tokyo Vanity rose to prominence with her 2015 song "That's My Best Friend," which went viral on Instagram and Vine. The song later amassed more than 21 million views on YouTube and established her as a social-media personality and rapper.

She has also worked as a photographer and was popular on Vine. Her music includes "Pull Up," which features Sage The Gemini.

Tokyo joined the supporting cast of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in season seven. Her storyline focused partly on her relationship with Tabius, which ended during the season before he began dating Spice. Tokyo and Spice subsequently became involved in a feud after Spice made derogatory comments about Tokyo's weight, leading to a violent altercation before they reconciled and began working together.

In the eighth season, Tokyo's friendship with Sierra became strained when Sierra expressed concern about Tokyo's health and eating habits. The season also followed Tokyo as she dealt with depression, several family deaths, health scares, and the death of her grandmother. She returned in a minor supporting role for season nine and then departed the show.

Tokyo Vanity has attracted media attention for her body positivity and her public discussion of virginity. Her relationship with Tabius was also presented in connection with her decision to abstain from sex, which became part of the relationship conflict shown on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
