Quavo dated actress Karrueche Tran briefly in 2017. In September 2018, he began a relationship with rapper Saweetie. The couple collaborated musically and made frequent public appearances together before Saweetie announced their separation in March 2021.

In May 2020, Quavo completed his high school education and received his diploma, eleven years after leaving Berkmar High School prior to graduation.

Following the fatal shooting of his nephew and musical partner Takeoff in Houston in November 2022, Quavo dedicated substantial effort to gun violence prevention. In September 2023, he met with Vice President Kamala Harris and addressed the Congressional Black Caucus legislative conference on community safety. In March 2024, he founded the Spark Grants initiative, distributing funds to organizations dedicated to reducing gun violence across the Atlanta area.

Quavious Keyate Marshall was raised by his mother, Edna Marshall, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, located northeast of Atlanta. His father died during his early childhood. He grew up alongside his nephew Kirshnik Ball (Takeoff) and their friend Kiari Cephus (Offset).

During his senior year at Berkmar High School, Quavo played as the starting quarterback for the school football team during the 2009 season. In one game, he completed 28 passes, establishing a Georgia high school record that stood until broken by Taylor Heinicke. Although he played out his senior football season, he left school months prior to graduation to focus on music.

In 2008, Quavo formed the rap trio Polo Club with Takeoff and Offset in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Finding the name generic, they renamed the group Migos and released their debut mixtape, Juug Season, in August 2011, followed by No Label in 2012.

Migos achieved national prominence in 2013 with their breakout single "Versace", which received a high-profile remix from Drake. The group went on to release their landmark album Culture in 2017, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and established them as leading figures in trap music. They followed its success with Culture II in 2018 and Culture III in 2021.

Beyond Migos, Quavo built a prolific catalog as a featured artist and solo performer. He appeared on major crossover hits including Justin Bieber's "Intentions", Drake's "Portland", and Liam Payne's "Strip That Down". In December 2017, he partnered with Travis Scott to release the collaborative album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho under the duo name Huncho Jack, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200.

Quavo released his debut solo studio album, Quavo Huncho, in October 2018, featuring guest appearances from Drake, Madonna, Cardi B, and Kid Cudi, and peaking at number two on the Billboard 200. In 2022, he and Takeoff formed the duo Unc & Phew, issuing the joint album Only Built for Infinity Links. In August 2023, Quavo released his second solo studio album, Rocket Power, which peaked at number 18 and served as a musical tribute to Takeoff.

Quavo made his television acting debut alongside Migos in 2016 on Donald Glover's FX comedy-drama series Atlanta. He later made cameo appearances in the television series Star, Ballers, Narcos: Mexico, and the series finale of Black-ish in 2019. In film, he appeared in the 2022 thriller Savage Salvation and starred as Ty in the 2023 choir-competition film Praise This alongside Chloe Bailey.

In sports, Quavo earned the MVP award at the 2018 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game after scoring 19 points, returning to play in subsequent celebrity matches in 2019 and 2020. He also became a partial team owner of the FCF Glacier Boyz in the Fan Controlled Football League.
