Prince Royce

Royce began dating actress Emeraude Toubia in 2011, and the couple publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2016. They became engaged in June 2017 and were married in a civil ceremony on November 30, 2018, followed by an intimate wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

In March 2022, the couple announced their separation and filed for divorce. Royce later channeled the emotional aftermath of the split into the creation and themes of his 2024 studio album, Llamada Perdida.

Geoffrey Royce Rojas was born and raised in the Bronx, New York City, the second oldest of four children born to Dominican parents. His father, Ramón Rojas, drove a taxi, while his mother, Ángela de León, worked at a beauty salon. Royce developed an early passion for music through his elementary school choir and local talent shows. By age thirteen, he began writing poetry, which quickly evolved into songwriting.

At fifteen, Royce partnered with José Chusán to form the musical duo Jino and Royce, El Dúo Real. A year later, adopting the stage name Prince Royce, he began collaborating with producers Donzell Rodríguez and Vincent Outerbridge. Although he initially experimented with reggaeton and urban styles, he chose to focus on bachata. At nineteen, he met producer Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager and helped him refine his bachata sound. Hidalgo subsequently introduced Royce to acclaimed record producer Sergio George, who signed him to Top Stop Music after listening to three of his demo recordings.

Royce released his eponymous debut studio album in March 2010, co-produced by Hidalgo and Sergio George. The record became a major commercial success, reaching number one on both the US Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts. Its lead single, a bilingual bachata cover of Ben E. King's classic "Stand by Me", reached the top of the Billboard Tropical Songs chart and led to a live duet between Royce and King at the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards.

The album's second single, "Corazón Sin Cara", topped both the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs charts. The album earned double-platinum certification in the United States and secured three awards for Royce at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Tropical Album of the Year. He quickly expanded his reach through high-profile collaborations, joining Daddy Yankee on "Ven Conmigo", featuring on Maná's bachata remix of "El Verdadero Amor Perdona", and touring alongside Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull.

In April 2012, Royce released his second album, Phase II, which blended bachata with mariachi and pop elements. The record reached number one on the Latin Albums chart, yielded hit singles like "Las Cosas Pequeñas" and "Incondicional", and earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tropical Fusion Album. That same year, his label issued the compilation #1's.

In 2013, Royce signed a joint worldwide deal with Sony Music Latin and RCA Records after resolving contract disputes with Top Stop Music. His third album, Soy el Mismo (2013), debuted in the top fifteen of the Billboard 200, led by the hit single "Darte un Beso". During this period, he also served as a winning coach for the first two seasons of Telemundo's youth singing competition La Voz Kids.

Royce explored an English-language crossover with his fourth studio album, Double Vision (2015). The album included "Stuck on a Feeling", featuring Snoop Dogg, which reached number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Back It Up", featuring Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. He also contributed the track "My Angel" to the soundtrack of the 2015 film Furious 7 and supported Ariana Grande as the opening act on her North American tour.

Royce returned primarily to Spanish-language bachata with Five in 2017. The album debuted at number one on the Top Latin Albums chart and included the multi-platinum single "Déjà Vu" with Shakira, as well as tracks with Zendaya, Chris Brown, and Farruko. His sixth studio album, the double record Alter Ego (2020), featured the single "Carita de Inocente", which set a historic record by spending 29 weeks at number one on the Billboard Latin Tropical Airplay chart.

In February 2024, Royce released his seventh album, Llamada Perdida, featuring collaborations with María Becerra, Gabito Ballesteros, and Paloma Mami. He followed in 2025 with ETERNO, a Spanglish bachata cover album of 20th-century classics, and Better Late Than Never, a collaborative studio album with Romeo Santos. Alongside music, Royce has taken on acting roles, including Saint Peter in Fox's live musical broadcast The Passion (2016) and dance coach Vincent in Hulu's drama series East Los High.
