Meagan Good
Meagan Good is an American actress and model known for her roles in Eve's Bayou, Think Like a Man, and the Shazam! film series. She began performing as a child and has also worked as a producer and director through projects including Divorce in the Black and If Not Now, When?.
Personal life
Meagan Good was married to film executive and preacher DeVon Franklin from 2012 until their divorce was finalized in June 2022. She married actor Jonathan Majors in March 2025, after their engagement was announced in November 2024. She has no children.
Good is a Protestant and has described herself as a spiritual person. She has said that she declines roles she believes would disappoint God.
Early acting and *Eve's Bayou*
Good began appearing in commercials and working as a television extra at about four years old. Her early credits included Doogie Howser, M.D., Amen, The Parent 'Hood, and Touched by an Angel. She made her film debut at 13 as Kid #2 in Friday.
Her first major critical recognition came with her performance as the troubled teenager Cisely Batiste in Kasi Lemmons's Eve's Bayou (1997). The role brought her nominations for a NAACP Image Award and a YoungStar Award.
Film and television roles
From 1998 to 2001, Good played Nina Jones on Nickelodeon's Cousin Skeeter. She moved into more mature film roles with appearances in Biker Boyz and Deliver Us from Eva in 2003, followed by D.E.B.S., Brick, Roll Bounce, and Waist Deep. She also appeared in The Unborn, One Missed Call, and Saw V.
Good was part of the ensemble cast of Think Like a Man in 2012 and played Joanna Locasto, the lead character in NBC's Deception, in 2013. Her later screen work included Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Deuces, The Intruder, Monster Hunter, and Netflix's Day Shift.
She played the adult superhero version of Darla Dudley in Shazam! (2019) and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023). From 2021 to 2025, she starred as Camille Parks in the television series Harlem.
Production and directing
Good co-founded Freedom Bridge Entertainment in 2010 with Marlon Olivera, Tamara Bass, and Ty Hodges. Her producing credits include Video Girl, Dysfunctional Friends, A Girl Like Grace, If Not Now, When?, Death Saved My Life, and the television series Á La Carte.
She co-produced and starred as Ava in Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black (2024). She also executive produced and starred alongside Taye Diggs in the Lifetime film Terry McMillan Presents: Forever. Her directing credits include The Dead Diaries, All That Matters, If Not Now, When?, the music video Diarra Sylla: Set Free, and the short film Black Karen.
