Martha MacCallum

Martha MacCallum has been married to Daniel John Gregory since 1992. They have three children, two sons and a daughter, named Elizabeth, Reed, and Harry.

She grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey, and graduated from Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes. She earned a bachelor's degree in government from St. Lawrence University in 1986 and later studied at the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York.

MacCallum began her broadcasting career at Wall Street Journal Television, where she worked from 1991 to 1996 as a business news correspondent and anchor for The Wall Street Journal Report, World Market Outlook, and Business USA. She then joined WBIS-TV, a New York sports and business station, as an anchor and reporter.

From 1997 to 2003, she worked as a reporter and anchor for NBC and CNBC. She contributed to The News with Brian Williams, Today, NBC affiliate news programs, and CNBC World. She also co-anchored Morning Call with Ted David, anchored Checkpoint, and created the Inside the Business series.

MacCallum joined Fox News in 2004. She hosted The Live Desk from 2006 to 2010 and America's Newsroom from 2010 to 2017 before launching The First 100 Days in January 2017. The program was renamed The Story with Martha MacCallum in April of that year.

MacCallum has interviewed figures including Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Laura Bush, Mike Pompeo, and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In 2018, she conducted an interview with Kavanaugh and his wife, Ashley Estes Kavanaugh, during the Supreme Court confirmation process. The broadcast drew 3.6 million viewers and was the most-watched cable news program of that night.

She has moderated and co-moderated numerous political debates and town halls. With Bret Baier, she hosted town halls featuring Howard Schultz, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Julián Castro, Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and Tim Ryan. MacCallum and Baier also moderated the first Republican debate of the 2024 election season in Milwaukee.

Her coverage has included presidential elections, the September 11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, royal events, papal visits, and major congressional proceedings. She also hosted The Fall of the House of Murdaugh, a seven-episode Fox Nation series featuring an interview with Buster Murdaugh.

MacCallum has hosted Fox Nation programs about World War II, including The Secret History of World War II, which began in 2022, and The Final Journey of the Greatest Generation, a six-episode series released in 2023. The programs focused on the experiences of World War II veterans and previously untold stories from the conflict.

In 2020, she published Unknown Valor: A Story of Family, Courage, and Sacrifice from Pearl Harbor to Iwo Jima, written with assistance from Ronald J. Drez. The book combined personal stories of United States Marines with the broader history of the Pacific campaign and appeared on The New York Times bestseller list.

MacCallum is a two-time recipient of the Gracie Award for Women in Journalism, receiving the honor in 1997 and 2003. She has also received the Soldiersocks and SoldierStrong Commitment To Serve award.

In 2024, she received the John R. "Tex" McCrary Award for Excellence in Journalism from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her coverage of the military. She has served on the advisory board of SoldierStrong and the board of trustees of Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child, and has participated in career and alumni programs at St. Lawrence University.
