Marsai Martin

Marsai Martin has been in a relationship with NASCAR driver Rajah Caruth since 2021.

She is the daughter of Carol Martin and Joshua Martin.

Martin began pursuing acting as a child. At age five, she landed her first national commercial for Choice Hotel, and her family moved from Texas to Los Angeles in 2013 so she could pursue more acting opportunities. After relocating, she also secured a national commercial campaign with Meineke.

In 2014, Martin made her television debut as Diane Johnson on Black-ish. She played the daughter of Andre Johnson, portrayed by Anthony Anderson, and Rainbow Johnson, portrayed by Tracee Ellis Ross. The role brought her NAACP Image Awards, Young Artist Award recognition and Screen Actors Guild Award recognition as part of the ensemble.

Martin played Diane Johnson throughout Black-ish from 2014 to 2022. Her performance became the central role associated with her early career and earned her multiple NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

She reprised Diane Johnson in the spinoff Mixed-ish and appeared with the Black-ish cast in related television programming. Her other television work during this period included roles in A Black Lady Sketch Show, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and several animated series.

At age 10, Martin developed and pitched a film idea to Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and producer Will Packer. The idea became Little, a 2019 comedy in which she played the younger version of Regina Hall's character, Jordan Sanders.

Martin also served as an executive producer on Little. She was 14 when the film was released, and her work earned her the Guinness World Record as the youngest Hollywood executive producer. In 2019, her company Genius Productions signed a first-look production deal with Universal, with announced projects including StepMonster, Amari and the Night Brothers and Queen.

Martin made her film debut in the leading role of Melody Ellison in An American Girl Story: Melody 1963: Love Has to Win in 2016. She later appeared in Fun Mom Dinner, voiced Prudence Granger in Spirit Untamed, and voiced Liberty in PAW Patrol: The Movie and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.

In 2022, Martin produced and starred as Callie Coleman in the sports comedy Fantasy Football. She was also an executive producer of the Disney Channel series Saturdays, which ran for one season, and competed as Woodpecker on season 12 of The Masked Singer.
