
Maddie Phillips
Maddie Phillips is a Canadian actress known for playing Sterling Wesley in Teenage Bounty Hunters and Cate Dunlap in Gen V. She has also appeared in The Boys, Supernatural, Ghost Wars and Project Mc2.
Early life and training
Phillips was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and moved with her family to Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 10 before returning to Vancouver in 2012. Her father is Canadian and her mother is from Perth, Australia. She attended the girls-only Penrhos College in Perth, where she studied theatre and earned a High Distinction from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Phillips decided to pursue acting at the age of six. After high school, she received early acceptance into Capilano University's ASAS program, but chose to sign with an acting agency and pursue auditions and independent acting classes instead. Her training has included work with Ingrid Torrance, Arron Craven, John Cassini and Matthew Harrison, as well as continued coaching with Deb Podowski.
Breakthrough television roles
Phillips made her television debut in 2015 with appearances in iZombie, Backstrom and the television films Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Truth Be Told and Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From Paris with Love. She also appeared in two episodes of Supernatural, playing Janet Novoselic in 2015 and Harper Sayles in 2018. Her early television credits included Lucifer, Legion, Hit the Road and The Crossing.
Her first recurring television role was Devon D'Marco in the Netflix series Project Mc2, followed by a five-episode recurring role as Randeen in Ghost Wars. In 2020, she played Sterling Wesley in the Netflix teen comedy-drama Teenage Bounty Hunters, appearing in all 10 episodes alongside Anjelica Bette Fellini, who played Sterling's twin sister.
Phillips later joined the cast of the Amazon superhero series Gen V as Cate Dunlap. She reprised Cate in two episodes of the fourth season of The Boys and also played Gigi in an episode of Overcompensating.
Film and other screen work
Phillips made her on-screen film debut in If I Had Wings in 2013. She went on to lead the short film Antoinette and play Sugar in Victory Square. Her other film credits include Nightwing: Prodigal, Considering Love and Other Magic, The Roommate, Two/One, A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish, Summerland, Shared Bath and Four Walls.
In the 2014 indie fan film Nightwing: Prodigal, Phillips appeared alongside Brady Roberts. She has also appeared in music videos for Hawking's “Comfortable,” Noble Son's “Sleepin'” and Diamond Cafe's “Slowly Fading.”
