Luka Dončić

Luka Dončić has been in a relationship with model Anamaria Goltes. He announced their engagement on July 7, 2023, after seven years of dating.

Dončić and Goltes welcomed a daughter named Gabriela in December 2023.

Dončić began playing basketball at age seven while attending school in Ljubljana. He developed through Union Olimpija's youth system before joining Real Madrid's youth program at age 13. His father, Saša Dončić, is a former professional basketball player and coach who mentored him during his early development.

Dončić trained with Real Madrid's first team at 15 and made his professional debut at 16, becoming the youngest debutant in the history of the club's basketball team. During his five-year tenure in Spain, he helped Real Madrid win three league titles, two Copas del Rey, the EuroLeague championship and the Intercontinental Cup. He also won the club's MVP and Final Four MVP awards.

Dončić appeared 216 times for Real Madrid's basketball team and won seven trophies with the club.

The Atlanta Hawks selected Dončić third overall in the 2018 NBA Draft and traded him to the Dallas Mavericks on draft night. He won NBA Rookie of the Year in 2019 and became a central figure in the Mavericks' return to the playoffs.

Dončić earned four NBA All-Star selections during his Dallas career. He and Jalen Brunson led the Mavericks to the Western Conference finals. In February 2025, Dončić was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dončić has represented the Slovenian national basketball team since his teenage years. At 18, he helped Slovenia win the 2017 FIBA EuroBasket tournament, the country's first international tournament victory.

Slovenia made its first appearance in men's Olympic basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Games, where Dončić helped the team finish fourth. Slovenia lost the semifinal to France by one point, 90-89, and Dončić averaged more than 23 points per game during the tournament.

At the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Dončić led Slovenia to the quarterfinals. The team lost to Canada, while Dončić averaged 27 points per game and ranked among the tournament's standout performers.
