Nelly Korda

Nelly Korda is the daughter of former Czech professional tennis players Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová. Petr won the 1998 Australian Open, while Regina reached No. 26 in the world rankings and twice reached the fourth round of the U.S. Open.

Her older sister, Jessica Korda, is a professional golfer, and her younger brother, Sebastian Korda, is a professional tennis player. Nelly and Jessica became the first sisters to play as partners in a Solheim Cup match in 2019. In November 2025, Nelly announced her engagement to Casey Gunderson.

Korda began playing golf seriously at six and trained at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. At 14, she made the cut at the 2013 U.S. Women's Open and finished tied for 64th. She won the Kathy Whitworth Invitational in 2014, followed by the Harder Hall Invitational, Yani Tseng Invitational and PING Invitational in 2015.

She represented the United States at the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup, where the team won 13-11. Korda was the world's top-ranked junior before turning professional in 2016 and did not attend college.

Korda won the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge on the Symetra Tour in 2016. Her ninth-place finish on the season money list earned her an LPGA Tour card for 2017, and she made her LPGA debut at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.

Korda won her first LPGA Tour title at the 2018 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship. The victory made her and Jessica Korda the third pair of sisters to win LPGA Tour events. In 2019, she won the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, entered the top 10 of the world rankings and won the Lacoste Ladies Open de France on the Ladies European Tour. She also retained her Taiwan title later that year.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Korda won the women's individual golf gold medal by one stroke over Japan's Mone Inami. She became the first American female golfer since 1900 to win individual Olympic gold. In 2021, she won the Gainbridge LPGA, the Meijer LPGA Classic and her first major, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, which also took her to No. 1 in the world rankings.

Korda completed 2021 with victory at the Pelican Women's Championship and finished the year as the world's top-ranked women's golfer. She also represented the United States at the 2019 and 2021 Solheim Cups, making her debut alongside Jessica in 2019.

In March 2022, Korda announced that she had a blood clot in her arm and underwent surgery. She returned at the U.S. Women's Open, finishing tied for eighth, and later won the Aramco Team Series event in Sotogrande. She defended her title at the Pelican Women's Championship in November and returned to the top of the world rankings.

Korda regained the No. 1 ranking in 2023 after finishing third at the Chevron Championship. Back pain caused her to miss several tournaments that year, although she won the Aramco Team Series event in London and recorded two wins with Allisen Corpuz at the 2023 Solheim Cup.

Her 2024 season began with victory at the LPGA Drive On Championship in her hometown of Bradenton. She then won the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship and T-Mobile Match Play before taking the Chevron Championship, giving her five consecutive LPGA Tour victories. She became only the third LPGA player to win five consecutive starts, after Annika Sörenstam and Nancy Lopez.

Korda added victories at the Mizuho Americas Open and The Annika to finish 2024 with seven LPGA Tour wins. She was named LPGA Tour Player of the Year and received the Rolex Annika Major Award. At the 2024 Solheim Cup, she helped the United States defeat Europe and finished with a 3-1-0 record.

Korda returned to the winner's circle at the 2026 Tournament of Champions, where weather shortened the final round. She then won the Chevron Championship for her third major title, taking a five-shot victory after opening with consecutive rounds of 65. The result returned her to No. 1 in the world rankings.

One week later, she won the Riviera Maya Open by four shots. At the U.S. Women's Open, she recovered from an opening-round 73 with consecutive rounds of 67 before closing with a 69 to win by one stroke. The victory was her first U.S. Women's Open title and her second consecutive major championship.

Korda finished tied for eighth at the Women's PGA Championship while attempting to win a third consecutive major. She later finished tied for fourth at the Women's British Open and won the Rolex Annika Major Award for the second time.
