Julianne Hough

Hough was married to NHL player Brooks Laich from 2017 to 2022. They separated in 2020, attempted to reconcile, and finalized their divorce on February 22, 2022.

She was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2008 and later spoke publicly about the condition to help reduce stigma around it. In 2013, she apologized after wearing a Halloween costume that used blackface to depict Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren from Orange Is the New Black.

Hough joined Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer in 2007. She won season four with Olympic speed-skating champion Apolo Anton Ohno and season five with racing driver Hélio Castroneves, becoming the youngest professional dancer to win the competition twice. She also reached fourth place with Cody Linley and sixth place with country singer Chuck Wicks.

After leaving the professional cast in 2009 to focus on music, Hough returned as a guest judge in 2013 and became a permanent judge from 2014 to 2017. She won the 2015 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography with her brother Derek Hough and choreographer Tessandra Chavez. She later returned as a guest judge and became the show's co-host in 2023, working alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

Hough and Derek Hough also created Move Live on Tour, a dance and music production that toured more than 40 cities in the United States and Canada in 2014 and 2015. Both tours included dancers selected through auditions and choreography developed with Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo, known professionally as Nappytabs.

Hough made her screen debut in an uncredited role as a Hogwarts schoolgirl in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Her first major film role was Georgia in Burlesque, followed by leading roles as Ariel Moore in Footloose, Sherrie Christian in Rock of Ages, and Katie Feldman in Safe Haven. She also starred in Paradise, Curve, Dirty Grandpa, The Steam Engines of Oz, and Bigger.

In 2016, Hough played Sandy Young in Fox's live television production of Grease. She later portrayed Jolene in the Netflix anthology series Heartstrings and served as a judge on the 14th season of America's Got Talent in 2019. She also hosted Disney holiday specials with Derek Hough and co-hosted The Tony Awards: Act One with Darren Criss in 2022.

Hough made her Broadway debut in 2022 as Dusty in Selina Fillinger's political comedy POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. She subsequently hosted Tony Awards Act One pre-shows with Skylar Astin and Utkarsh Ambudkar.

Hough began her music career with the 2007 country single "Will You Dance With Me," released to raise money for the American Red Cross. Her 2008 self-titled debut album reached number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number three on the Billboard 200. She won the Academy of Country Music Awards for Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Artist in 2009.

She released the holiday EP Sounds of the Season: The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection in 2008. Her planned second album, Wildfire, was completed but never released after her film career gained momentum.

Hough founded KINRGY, a movement and wellness platform centered on dance, self-expression, energy work, and choreography. KINRGY opened a flagship studio in West Hollywood in 2024. She also co-founded Ovation, a dance convention and competition tour, with Derek Hough and DanceOne, and executive produced and performed in the three-part Transformation podcast series through her production banner, Canary House Productions.
