Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy met Beth Britt in 1999 at a club in Southern Pines, North Carolina, shortly after The Hardy Boyz won their first WWF Tag Team Championship. The couple married on March 9, 2011, and have two daughters, Ruby Claire and Nera Quinn.

In March 2008, Hardy's home in North Carolina was destroyed by an electrical fire that killed his dog, Jack, prompting him to rebuild on the same property later that year. Hardy has maintained a wide range of artistic pursuits outside wrestling, constructing large sculptures, creating paintings, and building an artificial volcano on his property for motocross dirt biking. He formed the rock band PeroxWhy?Gen in 2003, performing vocals and releasing studio projects including the 2012 EP Similar Creatures and full-length albums Plurality of Worlds and Within the Cygnus Rift.

Jeffrey Nero Hardy was born in Cameron, North Carolina, to Gilbert and Ruby Moore Hardy. In 1986, when Hardy was nine years old, his mother died of brain cancer. Growing up alongside his older brother Matt, Hardy took an early interest in motocross, receiving his first dirt bike at age 13 after an injury forced him to give up youth baseball. In high school, he played football as a fullback and linebacker and briefly competed in amateur wrestling before choosing to pursue professional wrestling exclusively.

As teenagers, Jeff and Matt founded the Trampoline Wrestling Federation and later established the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts (OMEGA). Performing under personas like Willow the Wisp, Hardy honed an acrobatic style that caught the attention of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where both brothers trained under Dory Funk Jr. at the Funkin' Dojo alongside wrestlers such as Kurt Angle and Christian.

Hardy and his brother signed full-time contracts with the WWF in 1998, debuting as The Hardy Boyz with manager Michael Hayes. On July 5, 1999, they won their first WWF World Tag Team Championship from The Acolytes. Soon after, they formed "Team Xtreme" with real-life friend Lita, engaging in defining ladder and Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) matches against Edge and Christian and The Dudley Boyz at events like WrestleMania 2000 and SummerSlam 2000.

Hardy broke into singles competition by capturing the Intercontinental Championship from Triple H in 2001 at age 23, becoming the youngest champion in the title's history. He also had reigns with the Hardcore, Light Heavyweight, and European championships, and notably faced The Undertaker in a ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship in July 2002. WWE released Hardy in April 2003 following issues with burnout and missed events.

Hardy debuted for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in June 2004, adopting the moniker "The Charismatic Enigma" and using his own song "Modest" as entrance music. He immediately challenged for top titles against AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett before departing the promotion in 2006. Hardy returned to TNA in January 2010, eventually turning villainous at Bound for Glory 2010 to align with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff in the faction Immortal, where he won his first TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Over multiple tenures in TNA, Hardy captured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship four times and the TNA World Tag Team Championship five times with Matt Hardy. He also revived his masked persona Willow in 2014, feuding with Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud before returning to his standard ring persona. In early 2017, the Hardy brothers wrestled for Ring of Honor, winning the ROH World Tag Team Championship from The Young Bucks.

Hardy returned to WWE in August 2006, winning multiple Intercontinental Championships from Johnny Nitro and Umaga while reforming The Hardy Boyz for high-profile tag team bouts. By late 2007, he moved into the main event picture, earning widespread fan support. At Armageddon in December 2008, Hardy defeated Edge and Triple H in a triple threat match to capture his first WWE Championship.

In 2009, Hardy won the World Heavyweight Championship twice, engaging in an intense rivalry with CM Punk that culminated in a TLC match at SummerSlam and a Steel Cage match on SmackDown, after which Hardy left WWE to heal back and neck injuries. At WrestleMania 33 in April 2017, The Hardy Boyz made a surprise return, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship in a fatal four-way ladder match. Hardy went on to win the United States Championship in 2018 and the Intercontinental Championship for a fifth time in 2020 before departing WWE in December 2021.

Hardy debuted in All Elite Wrestling on March 9, 2022, during an episode of AEW Dynamite, coming to the aid of his brother Matt to reunite their tag team. Throughout his career across multiple organizations, Hardy established a legacy as one of professional wrestling's premier high-flying performers, earning two Pro Wrestling Illustrated "Most Popular Wrestler of the Year" honors and co-authoring the bestselling 2003 memoir The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire.
