Dream

Dream, whose real name is Clayton Ray Huff, was born in Orlando, Florida. He has an older sister, a younger sister named Drista and a younger brother. As a teenager, he was interested in storytelling and wrote two 75,000-word novels when he was 16.

He graduated from high school in early 2018 after attending for two years and did not attend college. Before becoming a full-time creator, he worked for AppleCare and believed his technology skills could help him find employment without a degree.

Dream began uploading regularly in 2019, building his audience with Minecraft collaborations, challenge videos and manhunts. The Minecraft Manhunt series became his breakout project, with videos featuring speedrunner challenges against multiple hunters and attracting millions of views.

In 2019, he formed the Dream Team with GeorgeNotFound and Sapnap. He later co-created the invite-only Dream SMP Minecraft server, a collaborative role-play project involving popular content creators. Dream was named by YouTube as a breakout gaming creator of 2020 and won the Streamy Award for Gaming in 2020 and 2021.

His success extended across YouTube and Twitch, where he streamed Minecraft gameplay. He has also collaborated with BadBoyHalo on Minecraft content. Two Guinness World Records associated with his channel recognize the most subscribers for a dedicated Minecraft channel on YouTube and the most viewed Minecraft gameplay video on YouTube.

Dream expanded into music in 2021 with the single "Mask." His early releases also included "Roadtrip" and "Change My Clothes," followed by songs such as "Until I End Up Dead" and "Everest." He signed with Republic Records while continuing his online content work.

For much of his early career, Dream was represented publicly by a green smiley-face avatar. He revealed his face in a YouTube video titled Hi, I'm Dream on October 2, 2022. The reveal was watched by 1.5 million concurrent viewers, and he said it would help him connect with fans and other creators while exploring new types of content.
