Violent Vira

Violent Vira knew she wanted to become a singer from the age of 8 and began performing by singing door-to-door. She first pursued pop music for four years before turning toward rock, a style she found liberating and rebellious after growing up in a religious household.

Her work has been shaped by a desire to encourage listeners to break out of their shells. She has credited Selena Quintanilla as her first inspiration and thanked her high-school theatre teacher for helping her develop a love of performance.

Violent Vira's debut single, "I Don't Care," was released in 2021 and accumulated more than 64 million Spotify streams. The song helped bring her music to a wider audience, while its YouTube video became one of her most-viewed uploads, surpassing one million views.

Her sound combines alternative rock and metal with powerful vocals and a brooding atmosphere. Her music has been compared with the work of Hayley Williams of Paramore and Morgan Lander of Kittie.

Violent Vira released her debut EP, Till' Death Was Never Enough, on August 4, 2023. The independent release includes the songs "Collar of Truth" and "You're Not Gone, You're Just Dead!"

The EP established recurring elements of her songwriting, including grief, inner conflict, religion, and ideas surrounding God. Its central narrative follows a girl and the ghost she calls her lover. Her single "Saccharine" was released under Mom+Pop Music in January 2025, and a debut album was planned for release that year.
