Tyreek Hill

Hill has fathered children with several partners. He was engaged to Crystal Espinal, with whom he has three children. In March 2023, his son with Camille Valmon was born. In November 2023, Hill married Keeta Vaccaro, the sister of former NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro. Vaccaro filed for divorce in April 2025 following a domestic dispute call to their residence where no charges were filed.

Hill has faced multiple legal issues and investigations throughout his adult life. In December 2014, while attending Oklahoma State University, he was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation against Espinal. He received three years of probation and domestic abuse counseling. In 2019, he was investigated over an injury sustained by his three-year-old son, though local prosecutors ultimately deemed the case inactive and the NFL chose not to suspend him after concluding there was insufficient evidence of a conduct policy violation. In 2023 and 2024, Hill resolved separate paternity lawsuits and reached a confidential settlement in a civil assault dispute arising from an encounter at a Miami marina. In September 2024, he was briefly handcuffed and detained by Miami-Dade police during a traffic stop outside Hard Rock Stadium before his season opener, an encounter that led to an officer being placed on administrative leave and the eventual dismissal of the traffic citations.

Before entering professional football, Hill was an elite track and field sprinter. At the 2012 World Junior Championships in Barcelona, he won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter relay and a bronze medal in the 200 meters. That same year, he was named Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year and earned USA Today All-American honors after clocking personal bests of 10.19 seconds in the 100 meters and 20.14 seconds in the 200 meters.

Hill began his collegiate football career at Garden City Community College in Kansas, accumulating 659 rushing yards and 532 receiving yards as a sophomore in 2013. He then transferred to Oklahoma State University for the 2014 season. Operating as a multipurpose running back, receiver, and return specialist, he amassed 1,911 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns for the Cowboys before his dismissal in December 2014. He finished his college career in 2015 at the University of West Alabama, playing 11 games and totaling 1,403 all-purpose yards across rushing, receiving, and kick returns.

Hill was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft with the 165th overall pick after running a 4.29-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day workout. In his rookie campaign, he scored 12 total touchdowns across rushing, receiving, and return duties. In a Week 12 game against the Denver Broncos, he became the first NFL player since Gale Sayers in 1965 to record a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown, and kick return touchdown in the same contest. He was named a first-team All-Pro punt returner and made his first Pro Bowl.

As his role shifted primarily to wide receiver alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Hill developed into one of the league's most potent deep threats. In 2018, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns. During the 2019 postseason, he caught nine passes for 105 yards in Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers, highlighted by a pivotal 44-yard reception on third-and-15 that initiated Kansas City's fourth-quarter comeback victory. In 2020, he tallied 15 receiving touchdowns and posted a career-best 269 receiving yards in a single game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including over 200 yards in the opening quarter. He concluded his Chiefs tenure in 2021 by setting the franchise single-season record with 111 receptions.

In March 2022, the Chiefs traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks, including a first-round selection. Upon arrival, he agreed to a four-year contract extension and formed an immediate connection with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. In his debut season in Miami, Hill caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards, earning first-team All-Pro recognition.

Hill produced another historic season in 2023, becoming the first player in the Super Bowl era to reach 1,000 receiving yards within the first eight games of a season. He concluded the year leading the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and sharing the league lead with 13 receiving touchdowns, setting Dolphins single-season franchise records in both receptions and receiving yards. Fellow players voted him the number one overall player on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2024 list. In September 2025, Hill suffered a severe left knee dislocation and multiple ligament tears during a Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets, requiring major reconstructive surgery. The Dolphins subsequently released him in February 2026.
