Baynes was in a relationship with fellow YouTuber and former U.S. Navy member Ashley Marie, known online as OmgYoAsh. The couple collaborated on several video projects before parting ways, later addressing their breakup publicly in dedicated videos on his channel.

His younger brother, Gawd Triller, is also an active content creator on YouTube. Baynes adopted his online pseudonym, SoLLUMINATI, after a friend named King SO suggested the moniker as a memorable handle for his gaming persona.

Growing up in Detroit, Baynes developed a strong passion for sports, particularly basketball. He pursued the sport at the collegiate level, first attending Odessa College in Texas before transferring to Eastern Michigan University.

His athletic experience and love for basketball directly shaped his early creative output online. In July 2012, he launched his main YouTube channel, using his knowledge of the sport to fuel his commentary on competitive basketball video games.

Baynes built his primary audience through the NBA 2K video game series. His channel gained significant momentum following the release of his video "51 Game Winning Streak Highest in NBA 2K15." He quickly became recognized in the gaming community for his dramatic reaction style, competitive gameplay streaks, and catchphrases.

In January 2014, he established a secondary channel titled SPIRITUAL So. On this platform, he stepped away from sports gaming to focus on philosophical discussions, personal reflections, and motivational videos covering life, belief systems, and personal growth.
