Villa has had a prominent relationship with content creator Jasmine Jade, whom he began dating in 2013. Jade started appearing regularly across his videos in 2015, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Ava, on November 11, 2017. Villa proposed to Jade in October 2018, though the couple underwent multiple public separations and reconciliations over the following years, during which Villa also dated creator Krys V. Villa and Jade later reunited and welcomed a son in December 2024.

Villa has divided his time between Florida and New York City, where he frequently spent time with his friend group known as the Savage Squad Hoopers. He later sold his Florida property to establish his primary residence in New York while regularly traveling back to visit his children and family.

Villa was born in Palm Beach, Florida. When he was three months old, local authorities removed him and his two older sisters, Tara and Sylvia, from their home due to neglect and substance abuse issues involving their biological mother, Angela, and their biological father, an immigrant from Costa Rica. The siblings were placed into a group home before being separated across different foster care homes.

After moving through several foster homes during his early childhood, Villa was adopted by Carol and Ronald Villa. He maintained contact with his biological sisters, who did not enter adoptive families. At age 19, Villa traveled back to his birthplace to seek out his biological parents.

Villa attended Ridge Community High School in Haines City, Florida, where he played both basketball and football. Following high school, he enrolled at the University of Central Florida, where he earned a bachelor's degree in marketing.

Villa created his YouTube channel on June 17, 2009, while attending high school, but did not upload original content consistently until after completing college in 2014. Facing unemployment after graduation, he returned to his channel and began publishing gameplay and review videos for NBA 2K15 on the Xbox 360. His gaming content quickly gained traction, leading him to produce regular gameplay videos, including an NBA 2K16 match against professional basketball player Archie Goodwin.

Villa expanded his channel's programming beyond sports gaming to include real-life pranks, social experiments, and challenge videos. In addition to his primary gaming uploads, he launched the collaborative channel Fredo & Jas, later renamed The 2x Family. He also established a presence on Twitch, streaming various video games to an audience of hundreds of thousands of followers.
