Sauce Walka

Sauce Walka grew up in Houston, Texas. His mother struggled with addiction, his father was a professional wrestler, and he has a brother named Dillon Clemons.

He has also spoken about his longstanding interest in anime. His jewelry includes characters from series and games such as Pokémon and Street Fighter, and he has commissioned anime-inspired artwork for his home.

Sauce Walka began rapping in 2007 under the name A-Walk as a member of the Houston group Mostheard. He began releasing mixtapes under the name Sauce Walka in 2014.

That year, he formed the rap duo Sauce Twinz with Sancho Saucy. Their releases included In Sauce We Trust, Don't Let the Sauce Fool U, and Lost in the Sauce. As a solo artist, Sauce Walka released mixtapes including Sorry 4 the Sauce, Sorry 4 the Sauce 2, Sorry 4 the Sauce 3, The Saucefather, Drip God, and the Sauce Ghetto Gospel series.

His 2015 track "Wack 2 Wack" targeted Drake, accusing him of appropriating Houston hip-hop culture. The song helped bring Sauce Walka broader attention, while reinforcing his public identification with Houston's rap scene.

Sauce Walka founded the independent record label The Sauce Factory in 2014. The label signed artists including 5th Ward JP, Peso Peso, Rizzoo Rizzoo, Rodji Diego, and Sancho Saucy.

Sauce Walka has credited himself with popularizing the modern use of the word "drip" in hip-hop, a term he uses extensively in his lyrics. His collaborations have included A$AP Rocky, Bun B, Chief Keef, Lil' Keke, Maxo Kream, Migos, Slim Thug, Travis Scott, Trinidad James, XXXTentacion, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion and Sauce Walka collaborated on "Southside Royalty Freestyle," a track from her 2022 album Traumazine.

In 2009, Sauce Walka pleaded guilty to deadly conduct after being charged with shooting and wounding a person during a concert hosted by Trae tha Truth at Texas Southern University. He received community supervision. In 2018, Houston police identified him as being involved with the Mash Mode criminal street gang in 2009, when he used the name A-Walk.

Texas state court documents from 2018 described The Sauce Factory as a documented gang known for criminal activity. Sauce Walka rejected that characterization and said that The Sauce Factory was a record label rather than a gang.

In December 2023, he was arrested after a high-speed police chase in Houston during which he drove more than 130 miles per hour, evaded officers for two miles, and was involved in a car wreck. He was briefly hospitalized, initially released on bond, and later returned to custody after being charged with evading arrest or detention.

In 2025, Sauce Walka was injured in a shooting in Memphis that killed TSF artist Sayso P. He suffered a leg injury, while two suspects were charged in connection with the shooting.
