Nadia Conners
Nadia Conners co-directed the 2007 environmental documentary The 11th Hour alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and made her narrative feature debut with The Uninvited in 2024. She also wrote for the television drama series Tyrant.
Personal life
Conners met actor Walton Goggins in 2005 at a fundraising dinner for an independent film. The dinner was a setup. A mutual friend arranged the meeting without informing Goggins, who thought he was attending a routine business dinner. Conners struck up a conversation immediately. The two talked all evening. Six months passed before Goggins realized the gathering was actually a blind date.
The couple had a son, Augustus, in early 2011. They married in August 2011 in a backyard ceremony attended by five guests and their infant son. In November 2019, they celebrated their joint birthdays by surprising family and friends with a vow renewal ceremony. They later relocated from Los Angeles to the Hudson Valley in New York.
Documentary and television work
Conners collaborated with Leonardo DiCaprio and her sister Leila Conners Petersen on the 2007 documentary The 11th Hour. The film examined global environmental crises and presented practical solutions for ecological recovery. It screened at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
In 2013, she wrote, directed, and produced the short film This Is All of Us. She later wrote a 2014 episode for the FX drama series Tyrant.
Directing The Uninvited
Conners studied film at New York University and spent two decades preparing to direct a narrative feature. Her feature directorial debut was the 2024 dramedy The Uninvited. The film premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2024.
The story centers on a couple hosting a party that derails after an unexpected guest arrives. Conners drew inspiration from a party she and Goggins had hosted. She cast Goggins alongside Pedro Pascal, Elizabeth Reaser, and Rufus Sewell.
