Method Man

Method Man has been married to Tamika Smith since 2001. The couple has three children.

He is also a longtime comic-book collector, with a collection of around 30,000 comics that includes The Incredible Hulk #181, featuring the first full appearance of Wolverine.

Method Man emerged from Staten Island's Park Hill neighborhood and became one of the most visible members of the Wu-Tang Clan. He was one of only two group members to receive a solo song on the Clan's debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), and became the first member to release a solo album under the group's flexible record-label arrangement. His stage name was taken from the 1979 martial arts film Method Man.

His debut album, Tical, was released in 1994 and reached number four on the Billboard 200. Its single "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By," a collaboration with Mary J. Blige, won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. He followed it with Tical 2000: Judgement Day in 1998, Tical 0: The Prequel in 2004, 4:21... The Day After in 2006, and The Meth Lab in 2015.

His partnership with Redman produced the albums Blackout! in 1999 and Blackout! 2 in 2009. The duo also starred together in the film How High and the Fox sitcom Method & Red. Method Man has additionally contributed to recordings by artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, LL Cool J, Limp Bizkit, and Mary J. Blige.

Method Man began taking acting roles in the late 1990s, appearing in films such as One Eight Seven, Cop Land, and Belly. His later film credits include Garden State, Soul Plane, The Wackness, Red Tails, The Sitter, The Cobbler, Keanu, Concrete Cowboy, Vampires vs. the Bronx, Shaft, On the Come Up, and Bad Shabbos.

On television, he played Tug Daniels on HBO's Oz, Melvin "Cheese" Wagstaff on The Wire, and Rodney on The Deuce. He also appeared in The Last O.G., hosted the battle-rap program Drop the Mic, and played attorney Davis MacLean opposite Mary J. Blige in Power Book II: Ghost.

His other screen and audio work includes voicing characters in the Def Jam video-game series, playing Phantasm in the animated series Chozen, voicing Ben Urich in the scripted podcast Marvels, and hosting the Marvel/Method and The Wire at 20 podcasts.
